Krios
Hi, So I just finished rereading the Edgedancer novella and came across the scene, where Lift and Wyndle dicuss his shardform. He mentions, that he has to be metal and that there is a connection between a sprens power, when condensed and metal. That made me wonder, if this could relate to the metallc arts. Like what would happen if a Mistborn would try to burn a living shardblade. Or what characteristics you could store in a shardblade. It would probably relate to the surgebinding abilities, that the blade grants. And does a shardblade work like a hemalurgic spike? And assuming that the honorblades are made of Honors Godmetal would the shardblades be considered an alloy of it? What do you think? Ps: Hopefully my English isnt to bad. Nathrangking he/him
Alternatively it could be like trying to burn nightblood which has been confirmed in a WoB to be the same as burning someone else's metalmind.

I'm assuming this is the WoB your referring to? http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=1145#1 Quote CTHULHUSPREN Could Wax, Vin, or TLR burn nightblood? BRANDON SANDERSON (paraphrased) Firstly, you're assuming Nightblood is not allomantically inert (he didnt say if it was or not), but if it was, it would be like trying to burn someone else's metalmind. Which is more complicated than you make it sound. Firstly, he's most likely allomantically inert for the exact reasons in @Oversleep's post. Second if he were someonehow Burnaby, he has a sapient consciousness, which means he has his own identity and all his investiture would be keyed to him. So it's two reasons that independently make him non-burnable stacked on top of each other.

Both of these problems could be probably resolved by a Mistborn bonding a spren. To avoid moral concerns, let's try to burn a piece of Shardplate (it regrows anyway). Now if only somebody could ask that Brandon... Edited August 22, 2017 by Oversleep
