I only read the first Heroes of Olympus book (though I read the entire PJ-series). I though Jason was a horribly boring and flat character. I liked Leo though, he was by far the best part of that book.

The PJ-series is awesome though, great stuff all the time (except for book 2 which was a bit boring). The fifth one was brilliant.

You get less POV from Jason as the books go on. Son of Neptune is Percy's book along with two great Roman characters. The last three is a combo POV from everyone involved in the plot from Annabeth to Nico to Piper, but I don't think we really get into Jason's head again after the first book. You actually liked Leo? I found him annoying.

Well, thats a relief to hear, because man, he was boring. But yeah, I really felt for Leo, and I found him funny and well-written. But opinions are bound to be different :D

Jason's an okay character to me. It does get dumb when he and Percy are turned into rivals for a while because both 'have to prove to be the better leader' which doesn't really go anywhere except to have in-team tension. I found Percy's team from Son of Neptune better written on their stories, one even has a history with the mcguffin of the book and she was my favorite of the new heroes. I guess I just don't find Hephaestus kids interesting since he tries too hard to be liked, has pyrophobia (which sucks for a blacksmith) and focuses a lot on his machines more than his teammates because he thinks he's the odd man out by not having a girlfriend. So not looking forward to The Dark Prophecy since he's one of the main characters helping Apollo in his quest.
