Brandon's secret project(s)

Currently, on Brandon's website, the following four projects are listed:

Oathbringer revisions
Snapshot
Alcatraz: Dark Talent
Edgedancer

Three out of four of those items have been finished for months and have already been released! My hypothesis is that Brandon has been spending time working on something else! Perhaps we will get the "Lost Metal" (final Wax and Wayne book) sooner than we hoped? Or maybe "Nightblood" (Warbreaker's sequel) is quietly being finished? 

What say ye Sharders? Is Brandon working on something without telling us? If so, what do you think it is?

I don't think so. He's already said his next writing block will go to Apocalypse Guard, for his other publisher. I think it's just been Oathbringer revisions weighing heavily on him, and he's doing prep work for Apocalypse Guard 1 while he can.

I may be wrong on this, but I thought his next book was Wax and Wayne #4.

I thought it was Apocalypse Guard.

Per the 2016 State of the Sanderson Lost Metal will be his next non-YA project and he plans to put a progress bar up this fall (2017), shooting for a 2018 publishing. Here was the proposed timeline just 6 months ago: 

February 2017: Snapshot
November 2017: Stormlight 3
Spring 2018: Apocalypse Guard 1
Fall 2018: Wax and Wayne 4 (final book)
Sometime 2019: Apocalypse Guard 2
Sometime 2019: Undecided. (There will likely be a second novel this year. It’s possible that I’m still working on Stormlight 4 though, and will have a lean year as a result.)
Sometime 2020: Stormlight 4
Sometime 2020: Apocalypse Guard 3 (final book)

Here's what he said in his latest SotS: " Some people do wonder why I’d do like The Apocalypse Guard before The Atzlanian (Rithmatist 2). It comes down to having two publishers. Stormlight, Rithmatist, and Wax and Wayne are all books for Tor. I need to give Delacorte some love too, and they’ve waited patiently all year for me to finish Stormlight. So they get the next major writing time slot."

Excellent share! Thank you for this! Brandon has slipped books into his schedule in the past (see Bands of Mourning AND Secret History written in, uh, secret haha) so I have a hope that he will have something for us in the next little bit.

#1 hope is that he wrote "Nightblood" to clear up what happened with Vasher.

#2 hope is that he wrote "the Lost Metal".

I agree that his schedule seems wide open for a secret surprise for the next few years, and I'm sure he'll slip us something in there because he has proven incorrigible over the last few years! But at the same time... I don't want to get to the point where I expect him to produce like has has in the past and complain if we "only" get 2 books a year (what I say to myself often when I start to feel this way: "are you kidding me 2 books a year?? that is like 4000% more productive still than other authors out there!") We are lucky that he has spoiled us so much in the past!

I'd rather learn to be content with 2 really high quality publications a year than 5 that might suffer from attentions being spread too thin for him and his staff.

Oh I hear you on that. I do not feel like he is obligated to provide more! As you said, his output is already so above average that demanding more would be the epitome of selfishness. On the other hand, I would not be surprised if he was working on something secretly haha.
