Ash is not a character, Ash is short for Shalash.

Yeah, but it's a very popular, very common in-world nickname. Brandon uses it more than her actual name when talking about her, and it's used in the text at least once already (WoR prologue).

Meanwhile, the Scadrial article says very little about actual ash.

I think a disambiguation page is warranted already, and it's only going to become more necessary as we see more Shalash.
