What? Where is this revealed? "A woman sits and scratches out her own eyes. Daughter of kings and winds, the vandal." This is the proof and since Jezebel (lol Jezrien storm you autocorrect!) is the kingly one and a windrunner it is logical to conclude he is the father. Shallash is obviously the one who desecrates her own statues... Its from the one of the Death rattles in WoK Edit: well the herald of windrunners anyway Edited May 7, 2017 by Radiant_Jaeger
Spoolofwhool Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 (edited) Brandon confirmed Shalash is Jezerien's daughter at an event. Edited May 7, 2017 by Spoolofwhool

I just accidentally added it and I can't seem to be able to delete quotes on my phone. Probably should've made a comment on that. Here's the quote if you actually want it though. Quote CHRIS KING (MIYABI) Is Shalash the daughter of Jezrien? BRANDON SANDERSON Umm... Oh, yes, she is his daughter. [Source] 1

You just made me question the validity of my love affair with Kaldin! I'm so sad now. Real people just aren't the same.

It was more of a questioning. Do they deserve blame or not, and how much? But I did a poor job of conveying that and have since reevaluated my stance not that I think they are any less blameless or culpable but rather that they deserve just as much pity.
kari-no-sugata Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 I'm sure my opinion will change over time as more info is released but my impression of the Heralds is that they're "heros who broke". They probably endured more than any person can reasonably be expected to endure - making them heros. But they still broke and betrayed one of their own and walked away from it all in failure. 1
Andy92 Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 (edited) I think the Herlads tend to shadow the Shardholders on a smaller scale in that they seem to be normal people with special abilities. Brandon's largest theme with the Cosmere is really, "if mortals were given the powers of the gods, what would they do with them?" And I think most of us would inevitably do what the Herlads and many Shardholders did...break under the pressure. It doesn't make the Herlads blameless, but I think it makes them realistic. Agreed, and I'm interested to see how Naln proceeds from now on, revenge on Ishar perhaps? Who knows
