I am not sure from where but Roshar has 0.7 g of gravity. It's One of the features needed to allow Greater to exist in it.

About the air resistance, I think you understamate It a bit. Flying at 200-300 Km/h would be hard for the G-Force alone. Imagine having the full air resistance in your body. It's not really different than be hit by something

Arcanum Unbounded.

The showpiece of the system is, of course, the middle planet of Roshar itself. At 0.7 cosmere standard in gravitation and 0.9 in size—and possessing a high-oxygen environment—Roshar is home to a diverse and unique ecology containing dramatic megafauna and fascinating symbiotic relationships between creatures (both humanoid and not) and Splinters of Investiture.

Yata is right, the reason for a terminal velocity is that air resistance cancels out further acceleration. You'd be limited firstly by the impact and secondly by friction limiting you. Further lashings will only get you to that speed faster.

But think of Lift with the Windrunner blade...no friction=unlimited speed with just one lashing (after how ever many seconds).

You make a false assumption here. That he is flying. He isn't. He's FALLING! :D lol The G force wouldn't hurt him in the way you think because its not like a pilot being thrust through the air with extreme vibrations wracking his spine all the along. its someone who has the exact same force (gravity) being exerted on their entire body. It is different then being hit by something. The main problem with g's being exerted on the body is change in direction, turning and vibration can really screw up the spine. But if you can control the amount of force acting upon you I imagine it would be easy to gauge how much you could take, then increase it gradually (Especially once he gets shardplate)

rust I was thinking terminal velocity would increase too, but you're right! damnation! But yes an Honorbladed Lift would be greased lightning

@Extesian @Yata

Lol I didn't know the Forums had a filter (it inserted Rust!) I love this.

This would be cool because they could use sound too and create flash bangs. I can't wait to see some of the more destructive powers like division and tension.

@The One Who Connects So division is fairly obvious in its essence but what do you think Tension and Cohesion end up being? I believe that it will allow a sort of super strength. Increase the tension of the muscles and skin making them resistant to physical blows and able to lift more while in shardplate.

Lightweaving lasers will most likely be used in the form of redirecting the sun's light and focusing it magnifying glass style. #parshmen ants

It's possible that Brandon didn't use the word laser in an general purpose sense - a laser is more than a beam of light, it's a way of producing that. A laser is actually a device. A laser beam is the output from a laser. So Brandon's SA version of a laser might be more like a fabrial - some real lasers use gems/crystals after all.

But yes we might get the Giant Magnifying Glass of Doom (tm) as well :)

We already saw Shallan getting frustrated with a telescope near the end of WoR and I immediately wondered how long it'll be until she starts replicating lens effects using her Radiant abilities. I've even imagined her doing things like creating a real-time map of a battlefield using light projection.
