☫Kelsier☫ he/him Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Hi people! Kell here. I need to work on a new intro. Anyways, I'm here to discuss weird metal effects (WMFX/E). Post your opinions down below. Alright. Here we go! •What happens when you burn Atium and Malatium at the same time against an opponent who is using the same metals? Will the Atium shadows have shadows too? Will you see all the possible paths of the past Malatium shadows? What happens with Gold in the mix? •What does Atium/Lerasium/Malatium/Gold/Electrum do in tandem with Duralumin? Duralumin and the metal as a Savant? •When burning Bendalloy or Cadmium, what does Atium do? The others? •Since the human body has trace amounts of iron, can we Push/Pull/Sense it with Duralumin/Harmony messing with your body/Lerasium? •If some Allomantic Metals are toxic, do Gold Metalminds (Bloodmakers) burn them away? Only Rashek would have this problem, tho. •If Harmonium could store any attribute, could it store non-Feruchemical attributes? •What the rust happens when you Hemalurgically Spike someone and Spike yourself and the stored Identity and you tapped the Metalmind? Would you BECOME THEM?!?!?! Thazzit for now, Having the want of seeing the you tomorrow!! 1

I doubt the Malatium gives you much except a distraction in combat (and when else are you burning Atium?), except for really unusual situations like Vin vs TLR. Quote Will you see all the possible paths of the past Malatium shadows? I doubt it, since the Malatium shadows can't really do anything (as I understand it), so all their possible futures will be "do nothing". Quote What does Atium/Lerasium/Malatium/Gold/Electrum do in tandem with Duralumin? Duralumin and the metal as a Savant? We see Atium-Duralumin used in HOA, although the description isn't very detailed. There's also a WOB that Atium-Duralumin pulls you mostly into the Spiritual Realm. I think Lerasium-Duralumin wouldn't do anything more than plain Lerasium except maybe make you a Mistborn slightly quicker? Duralumin just burns the metal all at once, I don't think it actually provides new power. Quote •Since the human body has trace amounts of iron, can we Push/Pull/Sense it with Duralumin/Harmony messing with your body/Lerasium? If you're an Inquisitor, you can sense blue lines to trace metals in people's bodies (and almost anything else) - that's how they see. Per an annotation for WOA, this trick could be learned by a non-Hemalurgic Coinshot/Lurcher/Mistborn. Actually Pushing/Pulling on them... would require absolutely absurd amounts of power. I doubt even TLR could manage that, though he could push on allomantic metals in Vin's stomach. 1

Only Rashek would have this problem, tho. Atium+Duralumin pulls you into the Spiritual Realm, which is why Elend could see Preservation's ultimate plan, Malatium/Gold/Electrum would do.. undefined effects with Duralumin. We don't understand how "getting more" out of those powers works at all, so we can't really guess how it would mix with Duralumin. Lerasium+Duralumin does nothing of real value. I'm trying to find the WoB, but I remember someone asking and Brandon saying that you can't super-boost your Allomantic strength that way. I don't think it[F-Gold] would burn away the metals so much as it would heal the effects of metal poisoning. 7 hours ago, cometaryorbit said: If you're an Inquisitor, you can sense blue lines to trace metals in people's bodies (and almost anything else) - that's how they see. I was on that same train of thought until a few days ago, when Dyring pointed out particular wording from the Vin vs TLR scene. Quote 22 hours ago, Dyring said: He pretty much does it to Vin in the end of Final empire, to a lesser degree. Probably just regular push there though. "pushing the metals in her stomach and in her body, threatening to crush her back against the pillar" [..] So it's quite possible he had the raw strength to do exactly that. But this'll turn into a debate of semantics and an essay on Brandon's wording choices... Edited March 8, 2017 by The One Who Connects pronouns 1

Will the Atium shadows have shadows too? Will you see all the possible paths of the past Malatium shadows? What happens with Gold in the mix Malatium is basically just the external application of A-Gold so it shouldn't do anything in conjunction with Atium or Gold. And given how uncomfortable burning Gold is generally described as being (even if you don't try touching the gold shadows) I doubt you'd want to try burning that metal anywhere near a fight, which is where you'd be most likely to burn atium. Accidentally touch a gold shadow, get sick, suddenly see all your possible futures end in you getting your chull kicked. Edit: Storming profanity filters... Quote •What does Atium/Lerasium/Malatium/Gold/Electrum do in tandem with Duralumin? Duralumin and the metal as a Savant? Malatium/Duralumin might do something similar to what happens in Secret History, since we know that Atium/Duralumin gives you a peek into the Spiritual Realm so the effect might be similar to flaring Malatium at the moment of transition. But that's just a guess. Gold or Electrum and Duralumin might boost how far into your past/future you can see but again, that's just a guess. Quote •When burning Bendalloy or Cadmium, what does Atium do? The others? Waste perfectly good atium, I'd wager. If you're burning Bendalloy then everything outside the bubble is moving super-slow to your perception; as we know from Era 2 you have plenty of time to figure out how to react to stuff outside a speed bubble under normal circumstances so you don't need atium. And with Cadmium everything moves super-fast to your perspective so the atium shadows would presumably be sped up as well and while you might be able to process them (since atium expands your mind normally) there's little reason to do that when you could just burn the atium normally and not have to worry that you're effectively frozen in time from the perspective of everyone around you. Quote •What the rust happens when you Hemalurgically Spike someone and Spike yourself and the stored Identity and you tapped the Metalmind? Would you BECOME THEM?!?!?! Not sure what exactly you're asking here, could you clarify it? Edited March 8, 2017 by Weltall 1

I think he is asking if you had a Hemalurgically imbued spike that gave the ability to store investure, that somebody filled the spike with identity, then you were spiked with that spiked, then tapped the spike for their identity, would you become that person 1
Weltall Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 So essentially a spike that stole F-Aluminum? I want to say that it might not actually work at all in that situation, here's how I'm getting that: A is the original Feruchemist, B is the first spikee and C is the second spikee. A gets spiked, resulting in a Hemalurgic spike containing A's ability to use F-Aluminum. B uses that spike and stores their own Identity in a metalmind (IIRC, we don't know that aluminum can steal Feruchemical enhancement powers so you might not be able to store in the spike itself but I don't think it affects the reasoning either way) C somehow gets ahold of B's spike and metalmind (if the two are separate). Now, they have A's ability to use F-Aluminum and have a metalmind with stored Identity. But that stored identity is B's Identity, so C shouldn't be able to tap it because they aren't B. The spike is still A's F-Aluminum but the Identity stored in the metalmind is neither A's nor C's so it shouldn't be any more useable to C than any other metalmind. Now, assuming I haven't comitted some Realmatic blunder in my logic, the original idea could still happen if you cut it down to just A and B, with A having previously stored Identity in a metalmind. Then B could access that metalmind because 'B's Feruchemy' and 'A's Feruchemy' are one and the same. And that's the point where I'd throw up my hands and say that I have absolutely no clue what tapping someone elses identity would do. xD 1

Not sure what exactly you're asking here, could you clarify it? To clarify, I meant that if someone stored obscene amounts of identity, then you took their Feruchemy via Hemalurgy, you'd be able to access their Metalmind. Since they were a Trueself Ferring, you'd tap THEIR identity and not yours. So, while tapping the metal mind would you 'be' them? 1
