So... this is a thing that's been bouncing around my head for a while now. I figure it might be a good idea to gauge what kind of interest there might be before commuting to anything too serious.

At this point, a lot of Brandon's cosmere stuff is more readily available; novella's can be found in Arcanum Unbounded, he's working on Oathbringer, and he has quick a few decent-sized novels out. So...

Would anyone be interested in doing a group re-read of the cosmere? I was thinking something along the lines of what they have over on Tor; a chapter-by-chapter weekly re-read of... well, everything. Starting at Elantris, reading through to where we are now. Part literary analysis (because I feel the fact these books are... well, books is often ignored), part realmantic scrutinizing, part forum activity to tide things over until the next big release.

Anyone interested in seeing/participating in such a thing?

It is interesting, but I think it would require a dedicated section within the forum. It would also need to have one or two individuals responsible for the re-read of any given books, posting their commentaries on a weekly basis. It can't be just "Chapter 1, discuss". It needs to have someone offering discussion threads based on the events at hand and people need to be open to the idea the discussion might slip to other subjects.

In short, it would need to more or less copy the format of Tor.com without being bond by Tor, done by people approved by Tor and selected by Tor. It could come from less "top level fans". I'd be great if it weren't a beta reader who does it too, someone not linked to Brandon in any other way than merely loving his work. This is how it could differentiate itself from the one done on Tor. It however is a great deal of work, not anyone can undertake this task.

If a serious one is ever done with SA, I will certainly participate.
