I definitely liked it better than Vol 1. And I agree, the art change in the last chapter was disconcerting, and I actually wish all the art had been that style. It's way less "noisy" and easier to follow along what's happening. The foreman of the builder crew whose team got trapped sure has an interesting name...

Yes, you can bring books. I've seen people show up with stacks of 10 books for him to sign, and he'll sign them all. He does have a limit (about 3, as @WeiryWriter mentioned) of how many he'll personalize, but he'll sign just about any reasonable amount. (Personalizing means writing a little quote or drawing a picture or something.)

Forgive me if this is a stupid question... What evidence do we have that Hoid is a "Good Guy"? WoB says he was present at the shattering, but that doesn't preclude the possibility that he was also the cause of the shattering. All we really know is that he shows up everywhere and we all really like him because he's this fun easter egg in the stories, but how do we know he has good intentions? What if the 17th Shard is hunting him for very very good reasons?

So, I confirmed that Shadesmar exists "on" all shard worlds (yep, but you shouldn't travel to it on some of them), but if that's the case, then why does it look like the inverse of Roshar? Answer: because that's the portion that corresponds to Roshar. There's more to it than just that portion, and the other portions are hinted at in the corners of the map. It's through the other portions that you access other shardworlds. He didn't say anything more; just that "spren are created by the perceptions of men."

I went to the signing last night in San Jose, CA, and a couple of interesting things came up as part of Q&A and signing: The recipient of The Letter is someone he's written about in an unpublished work, which "some of you (may) have read". I'm not sure what he's talking about. [edit: nevermind, there was a closed thread on this already] The various Expanses of Shadesmar correspond to Shardworlds. "Spren would say they have a soul" (in response to a question about if it's possible to create a soulstamp of a spren) "Spren are created by the perceptions of men." (a bit more pontification about spren and souls. He talked about how we are created by our parents, then said this)
