[Secret History] Hoid and the Well of Ascension

I finally got around to reading Secret History...and it ended up confusing me with regards a plot point I thought I understood:

Why was Hoid at the Terris Dominances in Well of Ascension?

My impression has always been that he was following the same line of thought as Vin and Elend, looking for the Well then doubling back to Luthadel. I've always assumed he snuck in, got the bead and left while Vin and company were fighting the Koloss.

...but Secret History shows that he got the bead before the siege started. So...do we know why he was in Terris?

(Incidentally, any word on why Hoid never snatched the atrium bead before Rashek died?)

Retcon. Originally, Hoid was looking for the Well. But Brandon realized after the fact that with the Pits destroyed, the Well was the only accessible perpendicularity on Scadrial and he had to change it. Essentially, the new official explanation is that Hoid got caught up in events that he wasn't expecting and ended up in the Terris Dominance.

I always heard - or assumed, I guess - that Hoid was looking for the Well, too. It wasn't ever in what Scadrians called Terris, because of the LR's messing with the geography of the planet. He heard the rumors and whispers, too, and thought it was in Terris just like everybody else. I swear I saw that in some WoB at some point... guess I was off?

You have right, but while he wrote Secret History, He notice that would be impossible to Hoid to be with the terrismen when they met Vin and reaches the Well before her (because the Well is the only active perpendicularity on Scadrial at that moment)...So he change the Hoid route, He knowed where the Well was, he took the Lerasium and THEN he went with the Terrismen.

In the actual canon, when Vin met Hoid with the terrismen, He had already the Lerasium with himself
