In WoK: As a slave, after a highstorm Kaladin sees a legger with a deep purple carapace of a kind he had never seen before. During chasm duty he sees a few reddish and translucent cremlings. Snails behind Dalinar at the dueling arena. 1
Brightlord M. Alhstrom he/him Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Can people try and keep track of the path of the Black crystalline sphere that Gavilar gave to Szeth? Did the books ever explain what happened with it? Also, it would be nice to compile a complete list of all non-standard species on Roshar. For example, the copper-mind doesn't mention Songlings, as far as I can tell, though they are mentioned in second chapter of the first interlude in WoK.

I can't find the original WoB right now but the black sphere is in Jah Keved, Szeth left it there Quote Questioner: What happened to Shallan’s family? Yea, I noticed this too. As well as how the same paragraph that mentions it being hidden in Jah Keved mentions a story of the nightwatcher giving the black sphere to someone. Is this a hint that Gavilar might have gotten the orb from the Nightwatcher?
WhiteLeeopard she/her Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Timewise, the first time the black sphere appears is when one of Szeth's owners tells a story of how he stole a black sphere from the Nightwatcher. He was notorious for lying and embellishing stories, but he does mention it, and even if less than 10% of the story was true, it is still a hint. Next time it is seen is when Gavilar gives it to Szeth. Last time it is mentioned, is how Szeth thinks he hid it in Jah Keved.
