I was trying to illustrate that Krh'rhl really didn't want to be there, and the surprise of a sudden drop in noise caused him to panic.

You say that he 'tunneled', but I thought Earthshells could merge with rock?

Also, Krh'rhl may try to fix the pileup, and yes people will be mad, but being an Earthshell I fear that he would only cause more of a pileup.

It's a little of both, to be honest. It's merging the shell into the ground while the true body buries itself underground for either protection or movement. It can be done seamlessly, of course, but that takes a little more time and focus to achieve. I'm assuming in Krh's state of panic he didn't have the prescience to execute such a flawless maneuver and instead just channeled a quick escape tunnel and filled it in behind him, hence figuring there was a little dirt involved.

Think of it like this; Earth is like water to Earthshells. They can move through it as easily and naturally as a fish, but unless they have a few moments to properly plot their 'dive' it's still going to make a bit of a 'splash'. That help clear it up?

yeah. That makes sense.

Yeah, I'm feeling that too; it's hard to get Kiki's voice down right in narrative form.

By the way, Emer, did you have any particular idea in mind of what sort of gem Krh'hrl gave Kiki, or should we just make something up?

What I meant was, I wasn't sure how expensive of a gem Kuri would allow Krh'rhl to dig up. Granted, it was for story purposes, but such things can be abused.

Yeah, true. Also, this episode of StEC is brought to you by Trivia Master Harran, apparently. Because you never know when you'll need to know what stucco is made of.

That was interesting. Also, I didn't intend for the sand cloud to have quite that much power, it was really only supposed to be a small cloud. Though it did provide some exposition.

It's no Hope Diamond, but it ain't cubit zirconium either. Earthshells have a knack for all things earthen, metals and gems included, it's probably a nice little rock, regardless.

Krh'rhl didn't like how the man got closer.

This is how they communicate unfortunately. They are social creatures and like to herd.

Emeralis, this was an awesome snippet xD made me laugh

It made me laugh too. XD As did Kiki going into geek-speak, because it's rare that I actually get to do that. X3 Fun fact: I have it on good authority (IE: from IMs with Kuri) that the Earthshells steer clear of the Highlands, which is what gives Vhaskari researchers (and miners, and so on and so forth) access to the underground. They don't like the blue crystal array that one of the Enlightened built around the node there.

Hullo everyone. *waves* Midterms are through...so...can I play now? The little kid of me is bouncing around now.

Good to know! Yay done with midterms! We'll hopefully get things rolling in your direction very soon!

And I've been busy working two jobs, so yeah. Been mentally dead, especially as far as writing's concerned. I'll try and get things moving again here shortly.

Also, @Em: You are waiting on me to GM the Wagon-master, yes?

Sorry for the extended void of posting on my part, at least. Between muse issues, the holidays, and now my net being a PITA, it's been really hard to post e.e

Doubleposting, but hey, it's my forum, I do what I want!!

In the interest of discussion, I wanted to ask:

The Tolvera Incident seems to be slow going at the moment, and that appears to be slowing the rest of the rp down. Would anyone be particularly against moving it to a back burner, work-on-as-desired status and moving into a more interesting arc? I'd thought about starting a thread for one of the 'sidequests' such as the Bazaar, but I wanted to make sure everyone was okay with suddenly being thrown into some action/interaction first XD.

Lemme know what you gentlemen and ladies think!
