Seeker861 Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 @Yata Thank you for the quote from Pattern, I completely forgot about that. The wording does seem slightly ambiguous though. It could mean that the Stormfather suffered through the Oathbreaking but didn't experience it himself. I also didn't think about how the Bondsmiths would be under more scrutiny since there are so few of them making it harder to hide the fact that they kept their Oaths.
marianmi Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 (edited) As I see it, there are 3 possible ways: * stormfather was bonded, and he survived because his KR did not abandon his oath (part of the 10th order) (UNLIKELY) * stormfather was not bonded (VERY UNLIKELY) * stormfather was bonded, and he survived because of Honor's cognitive shadow. Based on the stormfather's words that he almost did not survive, this one can go in two ways: it was the spren talking - the spren survived because of the shadow, or it was Honor's shadow speaking, and the shadow survived because of the spren.
