Hail and well met, for I am the humble bard Quadrophenia of Dahoo!

Heh, all kidding aside, it's nice to be here! Last February I was assembling a reading list of esteemed fantasy authors and series ranging from the bleak philosophical nihilism of R. Scott Bakker's Second Apocalypse series to the fantasy-wrapped history lessons of Guy Gavriel Kay's Sarantine Mosaic when---walking about a local bookstore---I had found a certain title called "Mistborn" propped up on the table, with a sticker 'pon it that read "TOP EMPLOYEE RECOMMENDATION!"

Really, now? Well, if it's a top recommendation from an employee of this establishment, I thought I'd give it a whirl. And I did.

And by the time I had reached the last page a few short days later, I was in love. I've been a fan ever since! From there, I put the rest of the fantasy reading list on hold so I could read the rest of the Mistborn series (including the Wax & Wayne novels, the Secret History novella), Elantris, Warbreaker and (finally) The Stormlight Archive in their current totality. Needless to say, I've been won over as a lifelong fan.

Heck, I even went so far as to buy the officially licensed Mistborn RPG and its Alloy of Law supplement. Granted, to play either I first had to pester several friends of mine into reading the serious, which, yes, took some time... but as I got the ball rolling I not only managed to get them to read Mistborn, they even started reading The Stormlight Archive. We were off to the races! We're big into tabletop gaming, we're old school that way (as old school as millennials can be, natch).

I'm fairly well caught up as things are, have to say. Well, at least where the Cosmere novels and short stories are concerned. Still, I figured it was high time that--as a fan--I check out the official fansite, maybe make some friends amongst like-minded fellows and such.

It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance! I'm a bit of a film snob, literary fantasy is my bag, I love tabletop gaming (and regular gaming) and I'm hoping someone can show me where I can get a decent picture to fit the necessary size requirement for my profile (XD). Hi there!

Honestly I think most of our pics are just cropped fan-art of the kind you can find on Google. As for size requirements, they're detailed partway down Chaos' post here.

If you're into role-playing we've got a great forum for that just off of the "Forums" page. That's where I spend most of my time.

That sounds lovely! Now, I'm an old school roleplayer. If there's dice involved, I'm in. If not, not so much. I like it when the narrative is slightly up to chance and the risk of (possibly hilarious) failure hangs over the players' heads like the grim spectre of death. Makes things interesting!

A bit of chance is always hilarious (especially if you're DM-ing).

There's currently two RPGs up that are primarily dice-based: Desolations and Dustbringers and Game of Guilds. Desolations is a D&D knockoff set in the world of Stormlight Archive. Right now it's at max players but starting has been delayed due to inactivity, so I wouldn't be surprised if one of the players gets kicked soon. That one's located here and is run by 'Assassin in Burgundy'. Game of Guilds is a 'Voidus' creation that can be found here. It's not Sanderson-related per se, but it's run off of this forum. It's in the standard of the classic old-school RPGs and uses an external RNG for combat.

Haha, beat me elenion, I was gonna recommend Game of Guilds. but anyways, there is Sanderson Elimination as well if your interested @Quadrophenia, theres no dice involved however, since it's a mafia-style game. But I'm playing my first game and so far, it's been a blast! Welcome to the Shard and have an upvote and some cake n' cookies.

Someone made a Stormlight d20 game? Really? That's awesome! One of the reasons I came to this site was to find help in constructing a homebrew, well-constructed, in-depth Stormlight Archive d20 game. Have they already made rules, unique classes, all that?

Thank you!

Yeah, Sanderson Elimination is really fun. Currently my game is the only game that players can join. You can find it here: (WARNING: Extreme injury or death may occur) http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/55917-quick-fix-game-18-the-black-prism/

How does it work?

Exquisite!

Veritably, my good man, your curriculum vitae is well-met to our brotherhood of Cosmere-ity.

We, the Sharders, welcome you unto our fraternal order that also contains many females.

I extend an offer of allomantic-chouta unto you, good sir.

Veritably.

OK, can't keep that up.

Good m'am, in point of fact! But it's cool. Pronouns can be arbitrary, s'all cool with me.

So, when you say pdf's, do you mean like ebooks of every Cosmere work?

Not everyper se... (really just Warbreaker and The Emperor's Soul...) (And it's a self-bestowed title, "giver-outer of Cosmere PDFs"...)

Apologies for the misgendering. I got misgendered on here once. (I'm a dude by the way)

Hey, it's alright. I'm already a bit of an androgyny to begin with! I've gone by basically every pronoun in the book at this point, code-switching when the fancy takes me, all that. It's part of my eccentricities. Along with my Irish charm.

... That I wish I had. Instead, it's Quebecois. Which is nowhere near as sexy, let me tell you.

And I'm good with the pdfs, I have... basically every Sanderson Cosmere novel, whether as a tangible book, an ebook or an audiobook.

I have all the Mistborn books except SoS

That I accidentally left at summer camp...

And you have more regional charm than I.

You have Quebecois charm... I have Tennessean charm... Which is difficult to maintain when you're a liberal, bisexual teenager.

Worked for Tennesee Williams, didn't it? ... Ish... kinda... okay, bad example. And not even from Tennesee, come to think of it.

So, yeah, the following goals on this lovely site:

- Make new friends.

- Seek help in building a functional Stormlight Archive d20 game.

- Maybe even host a few games here, anything from d20 to Call of Cthulhu. Always good fun!

Just about every game I've ever run, incidentally, always includes one Lovecraftian nightmare. Every time. Heck, my friends and I once ran a Mistborn game and made Ruin's presence as omnipresently Yog-Sothoth esque as possible, it was great!

Also, protect Steris Harms, Renarin Kholin, and Allik Neverfar with your life and never let any harm come to them have fun!

And don't eat the cookies. Have some chouta instead.

I was referring to you, Darkness. You thought I was a woman a couple of weeks ago.

Quadrophenia, who is a female, did not assume my gender, despite my mistakenly calling her "man." (Which I apologize for)
