Spoilers for Mistborn and it's effect on the Cosmere.

So this is really obvious but I hadn't considered it until now. Harmony, being part Ruin can still talk to people with Hemalurgic spikes and according to a WoB I just read on the coppermind, Hemalurgy is not tied to Scadrial specifically. Apparently Hemalurgy will eventually be important to later cosmere stuff. I just got to thinking about it. Harmony could potentially talk to anyone spiked by a metal on any one of the other worlds. Granted the "Spiker" would have to have knowledge of Hemalurgy as intent plays a crucial part. It makes me wonder how far Harmony can already stretch. It's known that there are Kandra somewhere on Roshar already. Can he use them as his eyes and ears? Is Harmony seeding planets with Kandra in hopes of piecing together the mystery of Adonalsium? Most importantly should we be keeping our eyes peeled for anyone with piercings to pop up on the other worlds?

I wonder if the other shards have some effect on Hemalurgic constructs..

Quote

Harmony has the ability to speak and read the thoughts of any person with a Hemalurgic spike. This is shown when he speaks to Wax through his earring. He gains the ability to hear from Preservation and the ability to speak from Ruin. Source

The wiki article doesn't cite this passage, so I don't actually know where it originated but the potential is there.

We know that there is at least one kandra worldhopper out there, via WoB, though he also said we're not likely to be able to tell they're a kandra, so hunting seems to be futile so far (hasn't stopped anyone, though: Where's WalDo : The Kandra Worldhopper).  I wouldn't be surprised if Harmony is trying to do just that, find out more information through his servants, since something is actively working to keep him uninformed, but the kandra might slip through undetected.  I like this theory, and it'll be interesting to see if that plays into anything in The Lost Metal, or in Eras 3-4 of Mistborn.

SoS talked about his abilities to speak to minds.

FYI, if you want to mark spoilers, just mention the name of the book in the title in square brackets, eg. "[Mistborn Era 2] Talking to Worldhoppers". (edit: obviously you also want to be sufficiently vague in the title, which takes a little getting used to!) You don't specifically need to call out spoilers for book that aren't very recently released on Cosmere Theories, but everywhere else you do, and sometimes it's good courtesy even here.

As to the topic at hand, this is also another reason why I'm really curious about whether hemalurgy varies the required spike material from world-to-world, whether it can be done using metal spikes by anyone with Scadrian sDNA, or whether it merely requires any uninitiated person to intend to practice Hemalurgy and to spike valid areas. (Era 1 isn't always particularly clear about this, but if you're not spiking the victim through the heart, there are specific bind points to steal specific powers, as well as to receive them, so it is possible to fail even though you did drive a spike through someone)
