Since he is having to balance the divine Intents of Ruin and Preservation, constantly pulling him to do very opposite things, does anyone think that after a few thousand years this will wear him out?

Imagine a deranged Stormfatherlike god that is orders of magnitude more powerful than Stormfather. Scary?

It shouldn't drive him insane if that's what you're suggesting. It will make it harder and harder for him overtime to interfere with events, to a point where it's conceivable that God is completely hands off and his only role is fueling the magic of the world. That's a lot of wasted Shard power, and with enough time and passivity, I could see Harmony being re-Shattered.

Or he learns how to channel the intent to actually accomplish something. It's not clear how the perceptions of the vessel and the intent of the shard(s) relate. So there may be a way to game the system.

Perhaps Scadrial starting to interact with other worlds would let him do something, in the "ruin others, preserve Scadrial" way. Or maybe he'll grab another orphaned Shard, freeing his movement a bit (I admit I'm quite fond of the latter, if only because it would keep Sazed a larger Cosmere player rather than being limited to Scadrial).

I love this as a fan. but doubt that's the direction Sanderson goes. Unless his plan is for Sazed to ultimately reform all the Shards of Adonalsium (which would be epic I have to admit), giving Sazed 3 shards with no restrictions would make him 3x more powerful than the next strongest being in the Cosmere and would kinda defeat the tension of any Shardic-power encounters with someone like Odium (or Trell).

I find it more likely that Sazed will stay as is, eventually finding a way to power through the Intent-derived passivity via his own mental strength. Then he'll eventually give up the power (or, indeed, accept all of the other Shards) to be reformed into Adonalsium.

Or maybe Adonalsium was never a person, but a force of nature; maybe the point IS to give up the power and let them coalesce in a single place.

Brandon has referred to Adonalsium as a "he", which implies more than a force of nature. Also, Frost's letter to Hoid suggests Adonalsium foresaw the shattering and put a plan into motion to account for it, which implies intelligence.

Sazed does seem like the best candidate to become the new Adonalsium out of all of the characters we have seen so far. That could change by the end of SA as the characters gain in life experiences.
