My guess is that all the main characters will die and get sent to fight to reclaim the Tranquiline Halls. It's probably not correct, but I want to hear what other peoples' theories are. Thanks! maxal Posted July 18, 2016 Report Share Posted July 18, 2016 We do know there will characters with on-going arcs within both half Stormlight, but these will not be major characters into both. When he stated this, however, Brandon was referring to his main characters. He said not everyone would survive the first arc, but some would. I have no idea what it means for tertiary and minor characters never scheduled to become main characters. My personal guess is Kaladin and Shallan are the two characters with on-going arcs within both half. Szeth and maybe Eshonai are likely to die. I am uncertain about Dalinar. I think Renarin will be our "dead" flashback character. Lift has plot armor and most certainly survives the entire series. I suspect the same for Jasnah. I'd love for Adolin to survive, but his future currently looks bleak. I think Elhokar is likely to die at some point. Navani dies of old age eventually. I don't care about Taln or Shalash. Some on Roshar scheming reduces the effective power of Odium and negates some of his agents, and then someone picks up Honor's shard and uses it to fight him off. Several characters die perma deaths. New magical knight orders, similar to the atium mistings are established and play a key role. Similar to warbreaker, some of the humanoid splinters like returned and heralds fight on one side or the other, and some trickery allows one side to defeat the other. People from other worlds start to play a major role. Some last minute discovered magic trick like in Elantris, Mistborn and Warbreaker gives the good side a small advantage.
