Stranker
Not because of spoilers. I felt like I could handle the wait for Oathbringer. Then I read the excerpts that have been revealed so far online. Now I don't think I can wait for 2017. Can anyone else sympathize with this? maxal she/her
I do It is worst for myself because ever since I read the "planning for SA3", I angst my favorite character and most anticipated story arc will not be given a strong enough focus.
king of nowhere
yes, i feel exactly the same. The worst part is when the first 6-8 chapters are revealed, it ruins reading the book: you either have to read them again, or to start a book from the middle. I decided to stop reading excerpts, except for those revelaed with great advance and that answer some significant question about the previous book. For example, the jasnah excerpt, that explained what happened to her. the problem is that in order to do that i need to not read the chapters every day. while to read them, i must only give in once. So far I had some limited success: the first 6 chapters were revealed of shadows of self, and i only read the first 4.
Asperity he/him
I don't read excerpts or go out of my way to find out information about them so it doesn't bother me personally. However, what does moderately bug me is when there is a reading that is meant to be confined to the persons attending, or if some information is accidentally slipped then the person is told to not repeat it to anyone but these basic events will still be discussed. If they're not meant to be talked about outside of X event, then don't bring them up. It comes off as pointless gloating then people generally act confused and irritated when they're asked to reveal what they're not supposed to reveal.
