Hi guys! So you know how Brandon Sanderson made a 10th anniversary special leather edition of Elantris?? Well what about Mistborn? It's almost been 10 years since the first book came out (it came out July 17th 2006) Do you think Brandon will make something special? if so, please comment your ideas! I personally think he will do something special for that but maybe he will wait for the entire first trilogy to have 10 years to make something special... (2018) :D

Although I agree that it would be neat to have something special to commemorate Mistborn's 10-year anniversary, I kind of doubt it will happen. Elantris was Brandon's first published book, and I have a feeling that had something to do with the special treatment it got. Plus I think we probably would have heard something from Brandon if he was planning something.

Here's a quote from Brandon's site about the possibility of future leatherbound editions of his works:

Q: What about your other books?
A: If this is popular (and it looks like it will be), then we will do the other books. Our goal will be to have them sell at around the same price, and to make them match on the bookshelf, so you can have an entire Cosmere sequence of leatherbound books.

The goal will be to proceed with the 10th anniversary idea, doing Mistborn: The Final Empire next year, The Well of Ascension the year after, and The Hero of Ages the year after that. From there, Warbreaker would be next. That’s all I’m willing to commit to now, but we would eventually like to do Stormlight in this treatment. (Assuming people like these editions we’re doing.)

Considering that by all accounts the Elantris edition was a great success, selling out its first printing in a matter of days, I'm sure we'll eventually be hearing about the Final Empire edition. We didn't get a lot of concrete details about the Elantris edition until October or November of last year, so it's not really surprising that we haven't heard much of anything yet. I'm just going to sit tight and start saving my pennies again.

I'd really like to see a giant hardcover of the trilogy. Like a big old tome, but you know... New like.

Door-stopper deluxe. Seriously, actually sending that to someone would be torture for the people who work at the mail-services.

Maybe, in the far future, they can bind every single Cosmere book, novella, and short story together in a single, massive volume. Then, Brandon will finally be able to fulfill Robert Jordan's threat from the Wheel of Time, that the book would come with its own library cart.

Binding that would be an immense amount of work - The Stormlight Archives alone would look like this

Ahh, but would it be an Invested library cart? Because I'd totally pay for that.

And now I'm trying to imagine just how much space the complete Cosmere collection will take up once it's done. Even if you strip out 'redundant' things like an original edition of Elantris in favor of the 10th anniversary one or the anthologies including short stories now contained in Arcanum Unbounded, that still works out to...eleven books so far, many suitable as emergency doorstops or amnesia inducers (thank you, Alcatraz) in a pinch. Now add all the books we know Brandon intends to write and that's going to triple, not considering anything else that he might write that we don't know about yet, and maybe he doesn't either. Forget a cart, it's going to need its own special mobile library aisle.

So I thought that ALL of the cosmere leather-bounds were going to be dark blue with silver trims (like Elantris) but Mistborn is said to be dark maroon, not that I'm complaining, quite the opposite actually, I think it's going to be pretty cool having different colours but with the same style. what did you guys think it was going to look like??
