I thought it was more that Elantrians are very vulnerable to stress and other factors of mental health, eg. dying of broken heart syndrome? Subtle distinction I suppose, though. The only thing we hear about suicide in the books is as a direct response to becoming Hoed and being in constant pain.

To be honest I always thinked that an Elantrian's life become stressfull in the long time for the continuos stream of Dor they recive.

If the Elantrians recive an effect like the Savantism with the Dor that keep increase over the time. It's may be dangerous or not pleasant over some threesold and live with constant pain may be cause of stress and Mental problem... Of course I can't be sure of that.

I was under the impression that any mortal could live forever if they became heavily Invested enough. Isn't there a WoB somewhere about how good is very hard to kill and if you cut off his head he would grow a new body?

That might explain why atium compounding does not lead to immortality. The person isn't any more Invested, the metals are.

I wonder how heavily Invested dragons are?

Hoid would actually grow a new head apparently, IIRC. He was surprised himself when it happened. He expected what you did.

I don't think be Invested alone would grant immortality (of course I talked about less Investiture than the one required to Ascend).

Or every compounder will be Immortal or every Misting through Savantism.... and Rashek didn't need his Immortality trick then

But what about the lady who smashes the heralds statues I thought she had different hair colors. Could she be Vivenna?

No. That's actually one of the Heralds, Shalash (aka Ash), Herald of Beauty. She was alive over four thousand years before Warbreaker took place. Vivenna may be the older sister, but she's not that much older!

If you missed it, check the epigraph that talks about the Daughter of Kings and Winds who scratches out her own eyes, or something. Ash is the daughter of Jezrien, the King of the Heralds and patron of the Windrunners. The only statues and paintings being destroyed are ones that depict her. Additionally, in the prologue to Words of Radiance, Kelek talks to Nalan about how Ash is getting worse and about how they weren't supposed to get worse.

EDIT: To be clear, nothing says that the heralds couldn't have been characters in other Cosmere stories. But, the timing doesn't work out for them to have been any of the main characters, because all of the Cosmere stories so far (even Elantris) take place within a thousand year or so block of time, and the Heralds were around 4,500 years before The Way of Kings takes place.
