And don't think for a minute that this won't work. Evil principal tries to steal money from sick kids to fund a pointless cosmetic project only the sports team will appreciate? When rebuffed, evil principal starts strangling the club dedicated to raising money for sick kids out of pure spite? Trust me, as someone who once seriously considered a career in journalism, this is the kind of story journalists will jump all over. It has a compelling storyline, intrepid heroes, a remorseless villain, and a very worthy cause hanging in the balance. Tell them, and they will eat it up.

Not to mention the fact that it's local.  There is an evil villain lurking in our midst!  Behold his face, for you may see it in such a common place as your neighborhood grocery store!  THE HORROR!

Yeah, Cognizantastic, I hope you guys are ready to be interviewed on camera.

Think up some clear incidents that illustrate his villainy. A conversation with you, or with another member of the club. A cutting remark he made. Have them ready in case you confront cameras—or just reporters with voice recorders—without being warned. Anecdotes will stick in peoples' minds and help the story gain more traction in the community, giving you faster results so far as change goes.

If you have communication from him requesting the charity money, have that ready.

I would approach an advocacy group before the media. The media might be able to bring about public ire, but an advocacy group can bring about the force of law.

In fact, talk with the Make a Wish Foundation first. They will invariably become involved and are entitled to a say in what action should be done.

Man, Cognizantastic, that's absurd! I hope you defeat Principal Cremhole and get the charity money to those sick kids.

On a lighter note, I misread my new rep level (Stormwarden) as "Storm Watermelon" a few minutes ago.

Thanks for that advice earlier. :)

Also . . . I kind of, might have, sort of went and cut my hair from almost shoulder length to almost chin length.

And I haven't told my mom yet. I've just been wearing a hoodie all night. I feel the same way I did when I was 7 and decided to give myself "bangs"

Woohoo! Now we have the same length hair, it sounds like!

Although….I do hope you had a professional cut your hair. Trust me, it's better when the professionals do it. Even if you're twenty and are sure you know how to cut your own bangs evenly.

Um, nope. Just me and a mirror. Pull my hair into a ponytail and snip. Heh heh . . .

Edit: Aaand now she knows. We're going to go get it repaired tomorrow.

I've talked about my school's Make-a-Wish Club before. We're awesome. This small group of around 20 students has raised more than the entire ASB (like 100 students and 2 class periods a day) this year, generating a little over 15,000 dollars to grant the wishes of 3 kids with life-threatening medical conditions. That's more than the next 3 clubs combined, as I've said before.

The school is in debt because of our former CEO's terrible decision to build a gym without the funds for it (he was fired). The principal sees Make-a-Wish's handy 15,000 dollars, and decides he wants a piece of that. So, that's when he tried to get us to give 25 percent of everything we make to him so he can build an "amphitheater" (probably wants help paying off debt). As the club's new president, I wrote him a letter politely telling him no, and he then found out that taking money from us, a 100 percent charitable organization, is illegal. He laid off.

But since then, he has been refusing to approve many of our fundraisers. He can't get sick kids' money to build an amphitheater or pay off school debts from a crappy choice? Well, he'll just stop the money from getting to the sick kids in the first place! I can't help but feel that this is out of spite, because this has never happened before. It is completely disgusting and utterly enraging.

The worst part is that this guy is now judge, jury, and executioner when it comes to these approvals. He is now both principal and dean in one hellish, bearded package. All decisions go through him. We have no power but to file complaints and send letters to him.

I didn't know that I could get this angry.

That is... I don't have words for this. I actually had a similarly themed story to say about this, but your story makes mine seem positively cheerful by comparison. I'd like to say a lot more, but the swear filter would probably see what I've written, go insane, and start a rampage over the forums...

I mean, as a principle I try to see the good in people, but this sounds like the biggest [CENSORED] that ever walked the earth. In fact, isn't there a Government Commission for things like this? There is in Australia, but I don't know about California/America. I'll go searching now.

I just got to the end of Supernatural season 5, and literally, all of the feels. That was so perfectly heartbreaking on every level and I'm kind of an emotional wreck right now.

I haven't seen Supernatural, but I'm semi-binge watching the last season of Downton Abbey and know what you mean.

I'm nervous cause apparently at aome point after this the shows quality drops. It was supposed to end after season 5 and kept going so it's new storyline basically I think.

So how do you define "semi-binge"? :P

What's Downtown Abby about? I just know it involves a priest and people in like the ...1800's?

Watching one or two long episodes each day, taking long breaks in between.

It's about a wealthy British family and their servants, living on an estate called Downton Abbey. The series begins around 1914, I believe, taking the characters through WWI and afterward. It's currently up to 1925.

And….is it just me, or did my rep just go down by 500 points or so?

I'm on mobile most of the time, so I can't say. But.....if so that's a serious glitch in the system, or someone is looking through all your posts and down voting them....which would be weird.

Yeah, I think it's a glitch. Or one of the admins saw my status update and decided I was tempting fate. :P

That's terrible. I think this needs to be looked into further -- this can't be the principal's only abuse of power.

Yeah, it's not as good or quite as coherent as it was in the early seasons.  But in the later seasons you get Charlie!  And she is awesome.

And really, it's hard to complain about quality when really I'm just sticking around to ogle Dean and Cas.  (Sam is kinda meh for me.)

At least one member here has baaaaaaad memories around the Illuminati symbol.:lol:

Heh.  I really doubt they'd do that.  And...honestly, I checked the top rep screen when you posted that status update, and you look to be about the same level as you were.  So either something happened REALLY fast or you just misread your number.

I was at 26,044 this morning, and now I'm at 25,647. I know it's still a ridiculously high number, but—you know—I was this close to catching up with Kobold.:P

Huh. I looked minutes after you posted that status, and you were in the 25,600 range. Whatever happened did so in a pretty narrow window of time.

Right. I turned away for a second, and it had changed. So I'm suspecting a glitch.

The system didn't even raise up to protect Brandon's top spot but now it gained sentience for Kobold? Something is afoot.

I've heard of Charlie! Do you know roughly when she turns up?

 quality could go down if they like, start growing ugly beards or something. Sam and Dean already have the awful shirt thing going on (seriously, yellow with stripes? Ugh) so they can't get much worse on the clothing front. :P

Tbh one of my favourite episodes was the one with the phantom ship, and the British girl and Dean are on a "date" as a cover to go to the party in the house the model ship was kept in. And Dean comes downstairs all awkwardly in his tux, and the British girl makes some semi suggestive comment, and he blushes and goes all "ah, don't objectify me!"

So Dean the womaniser doesn't like being objectified. Huh.
