I keep meaning to try reading them, but Marvel just doesn't appeal to me these days.

There are characters I like who ID be interested in reading, of course. I've been eyeing Captain Marvel and Power Man/Iron Fist for a while...

Let's see.... I read Thor, The Ultimates, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, and (most important of all!) Moon Knight! They cancelled The Howling Commandos of SHIELD, which saddened me even if it was completely expected.

I'll probably sit Civil War II out. That whole Secret Wars event left a bad taste in my mouth and left me months without new Moon Knight comics!

Oh, and I'm reading Karnak

So, yeah, despite what I said I got the first Civil War 2 issue. It's a pretty solid beginning, so we'll see where it goes.

Also, Moon Knight came out today! And it was fantastic! Weeeeeee!

Haven't gotten around to picking up any Marvel books, though I might start on some X-Books post-Civil War...

But almost every reaction I've seen to Civil War II was... astoundingly negative.  Though it was mostly from people who also were proud to say how much they hated Bendis to begin with, so...

Really? Huh. Any actual reasons or just things like "It was not like the original! Mreaaaaa!"

The reasons seemed to be

that the conflict is too simplistic, considering the threat in question. Using future sight to stop, say, street thugs is one thing. Arguing against something to stop a guy who killed the entire Marvel universe once before...?

And, apparently Carol Danvers drinks at one point? Carol "Recovering Alcoholic" Danvers?

They also weren't too impressed with the deaths.

Ok. To address the points:

1) Tony's position isn't entirely clear, but at this stage that's fine in my opining. What I can make out is that when you stop one future, another one occurs...and not necessarily a desirable one (in the immediate case, Rhodey and possibly She-Hulk are dead)

2) I don't know if she does. Maybe it's sparkling something, from my point of view, though, that's like complaining that Spider-Man glows now. I'm simply not so invested to notice that discrepancy.

3) The deaths (and cool action) are pretty much off screen. We might see them in a spin off or not, but I can understand this complaint.

Well, this is pretty behind on things, but ipicked up the first volume of All New Wolverine.

Here's the thing, I hate Wolverine. I find him...frustrating, as a character. Of that there isn't anything interesting about him, but it feels like a lot of that stuff is never really usedcto it's full potential.

Laura takes a much more traditional superhero approach to things; globe trotting, setpiece action, crossovers with heroes and villains. I wasn't expecting to like it, but...

Actually, it fits her pretty well. I never liked Logan being treated like an ordinary superhero, but it works for Laura. It even makes me like the yellow and blue costume.

Old Man Loan sounds more like what I want from Logan, grim and gritty, but I haven't heard anything quality wise there. And, anyway, Wolverine was never my favorite; still holding out for a 616 Cyclops series!

And, there are some interesting themes bubbling in it. Immortality, nature vs nurture... typical stuff, sure, but the writing is strong enough that I'm invested. So, I might look in the back issue bin at Forbidden Planet, or else trade wait. I dunno yet.

I haven't followed X-23 beyond having seen her introduction on X-men Evolution,so anyone got places to start with her?
