Hey all, I wasn't sure if anyone had created a master list for all of the Radiant oaths. A quick search of the site didn't turn one up so I thought I'd create one. I'd appreciate if people could help me out with oaths that I either haven't phrased correctly or ones that I've missed/was in a WoB. Thanks!

 

 

Bondsmith - Adhesion/Tension

2. After the standard oath for all radiants, we know that lightweavers don't make any more codified declarations. Instead they strip away all the lies they tell themselves and gain power as they gain knowledge of themselves.

Skybreaker - Division/Gravitation

1. "Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination."
2. "I will put the law before all else."

Stoneward - Cohesion/Tension

1. "Life before death, strength before weakness, journey before destination."

Windrunner - Adhesion/Gravitation

2. "I will protect those who cannot protect themselves."
3. "I will protect even those I hate, so long as it is right."

Willshaper - Cohesion/Transportation

The words from the second Bondsmith oath aren't word for word from WoR, but we have WoB that it doesn't have to be word for word.

coppermind has the bondsmith oath as "I will unite instead of divide. I will bring men together." which are the exact words from the book.  not sure how necessary the second bit is, but there you have it.

I think the second one for the Stonewards from a Words of Brandon is "I will stand"

Last I saw we didn't have confirmation as to which order that was for (though stonewards does seem the most likely).  also, someone would have to double check this, but I swear I've seen a version where it was "I will stand where others fall" or something along those lines, but I can't find that reference anymore

They are still rough so this might not be the exact wording but: "I will stand when others fall."

thanks.  I wonder if they are actually just different versions of the same oath.  seems pretty likely, though I suppose it is possible they are separate.  or that one is just a paraphrased version from the same source

After reading this section from Chapter 53 in TWOK "The lighteyes talk about honor. They spout empty claims about their nobility. Well, I’ve only known one man in my life who was a true man of honor. He was a surgeon who would help anyone, even those who hated him. Especially those who hated him. Well, we’re going to show Gaz, and Sadeas, Hashal, and any other sodden fool who cares to watch, what he taught me. Now go to work and stop complaining!”

 

I wonder if Kaladin's next oath will begin something like: "I will protect even those who hate me...."

The ones via WoB can only be guessed at which place they fall in each Order's Progression stage. There was a theory about Oaths 2-5 corresponding to the primary and secondary attributes associated with each order e.g. Windrunners - Protection/Leadership

In any advent, we aren't finding out in book 3. I believe Brandon has said we wouldn't find out the Windrunners 4th oath into this book.

Well, I certainly hope we are getting oaths from the other orders... I personally wish for the Lift novella to tell us about at least one other Edgedancers oath. As for the Windrunners, I believe Brandon has said we would see another Windrunner say the oaths Kaladin has already said: the meaning will be the same, but not the wording.
