gbazz4 he/him Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Hi Everyone, A lot of people mention there are Words of Brandon on various topics that we discuss relating to the Stormlight Archive. I was wondering, is there a place that has a compilation of all the WOB? I don't know where to individually hunt down all the different WOB and wanted to know if someone on the forums or elsewhere have compiled them all into one location so i could read through all of them. Anything anyone can share would be most appreciated.

skaa he/him Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) Aside from Theoryland, the Events and Signings forum is full of WoB gems since people post reports, recordings, and transcripts there. One thing I do when I can't find a particular WoB in Theoryland is I go to the 17th's Shard's Advanced Search page, enter some appropriate keywords, choose "Events and Signings" in the "Find in forum" field, choose "As posts" in the "Display results" field, and then click on Search Now. This method might work better if you've already read the WoB before (and you're just looking for it again to, say, link to it) because you would probably be able to think of better keywords to use. RShara tried compiling Stormlight Archive-specific WoBs (well, Words of Radiance-specific, anyway) a couple of years ago (and more general ones soon after). That herculean activity didn't last long, but she did manage to collect a lot. Coppermind articles often cite WoBs, so you could go to the article of the topic you're interested in and check the references there. (Reading the article itself also wouldn't hurt. ) Edited March 3, 2016 by skaa 1

These should be easy to keep into one place. Most find their way onto Theoryland eventually, other than that though I don't think there's any.

Oversleep Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 (edited) We totally need to have a good database, easily accessible so that Sharders can add WoBs to them but at the same time immune to vandalism. We'd have to have keywords, lots of keywords. And dates and way to link similar WoBs (the everchanging WoB on burning Hemalurgic spikes, for example).We'd need a way to mark WoBs as "outdated" or "not-longer-RAFO! Link to the new WoB or short comment on the book the information is released"...The fact that information is scattered everywhere is pretty bad, but the sooner we put new information into properly arranged database, the better.
