I have an adopted little brother with Down Syndrome, and we have determined he has a large number of guardian angels.

The first winter we had him in our family, none of his doctors thought he would survive. They didn't tell us this until after he survived, though.

At one point, I had a pet turtle that lived in a tank with water in it so they could swim. My mother walks into my room, and sees my brother splashing in the water, the lit lamp we used to keep the turtle warm in the water beside him. He survived without being electrocuted.

At a different time, we were building a shed, and the trusses that were to be used in the shed were in a stack on the side of the house. He somehow managed to climb up there about 15 feet, and was completely unharmed.

He once got onto the stovetop, grabbed some knives, and began playing with them. Completely unharmed.

Then, just today, we had another instance happen. We have a garage with a loft and a dumbwaiter to get stuff up there. My mom put some fluorescent lights on the dumbwaiter vertically, so only a rope was really holding them on. One of the lights slipped, fell against a wooden beam between two trusses, and slid down and began falling to the ground vertically, like a diver. The light landed less than a foot, maybe less than 6 inches away from my brother, leaving him completely unharmed. My mom went and hugged him, saying she was glad he wasn't hurt, but he said he was okay, he was wearing shoes. He has no idea what could have happened.

This is an incomplete list of the many things my brother has survived.
