There's always going to be someone willing to do it. Whether they are just athiest and progressive ("For progress!") or are awaiting the sweet release of death, who knows.

I honestly doubt that the plethora of possibilities for the human psyche wouldn't produce even ONE volunteer.

To get the thread back on topic...

In the graveyard scene, doesn't Marasi wonder why there aren't any memorials for the final resting place of Spook? If so, the reason could be that none exist.

Where is Spooks ideas to spike old Allomancers/Ferruchemists mentioned?

I can't see Spook being allied with the Set simply because of their association with Trell. Even if his views don't really seem to line up well with Harmony's, Spook would know better than to trust a mysterious deity with questionable intentions considering his history.

I definitely agree that Spook is still alive, he would've been something like 120 when he stepped down as king.  Considering how unlikely people are to live to this age, let alone live to it and still maintain the competency to rule a kingdom, I'd say there's solid evidence that he figured out a way to artificially extend his life, either through hemalurgy/feruchemy or world hopping.  Assuming he was physically present for the majority of his reign, we can actually rule out world hopping prior to his retirement and using time-bubbles to extend his age.

My Theory:  Spook found himself a full compliment of inquisitor spikes and is living in the shadows like Marsh and the Kandra

I wonder if maybe spook at the end of his reign had someone spike him with all the feruchemical spikes. Then stored away his identity, all of it. Quite literally forgetting himself, then somehow let kelsier take him over for a pre decided amount of time.

Kelsiers identity would have added the scars to a blank physical aspect with high connection. In the same way forgery works his appearance would have changed.

The bit at the end where kel tells spook they have work to do makes me wonder.

Did kelsier forsee a threat so great that he needed to both empower others on scadrial and create the bands as a weapon.

A ruse like that would certainly fit kelsiers MO especially the crafty quadruple redundant vault seems something he would do and be quite pleased with himself about. Also the fact that both the sovereign and spook seemingly disappeared with none actually witnessing their deaths.

So chances are, spooks still walking around and up to things. Riddled with spikes but very much himself

Well there are a lot of theories, anything from Kelsier, to Marsh, to Spook, to Kandra, and etc. Personally I think it is Kelsier and feel that there is enough evidence that it is a fact, but not everyone agrees with that, and I did not state it that way with the intention to diminish those who think otherwise.

Well, I'm just gonna hazard a guess and say it's probably not the  guy who already has two eye spikes...

I agree, but there are those who have argued that he removed one eye spike and used feruchemy to heal it. Why just the one eye, or why do it at all, do not ask me lol.
