Full Metal Rithmatist Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Is it just me that finds a great deal of similarity between how the Godking describes how he sees the world and how wax sees the world when holding the bands. Im wondering if that distortion of perception might have something to do with how much investiture you possess. though i would say the god king posesses much less power than a fullborn then again it could just be a side effect of the level of tin power wax is burning. Its pretty loose but ehhhh....ya know.
natc Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Being highly invested for metallic arts just means your powers are stronger. Being fullborn makes no difference in and of itself; a weak fullborn can technically exist, as can a super-powerful allomancer that is still just a coinshot. It's just that the ones so far have also used tricks to be ridiculously powerful as well (TLR being heavily modified in ways we still don't know, and Wax was granted power by a metalmind, so he can just tap faster to be more invested and be more powerful, presumably. The metalmind itself had way more power than a human has any business being anyway). Meanwhile the God King has tens of thousands of beaths. Hard to say which is more invested.
Argent he/him Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Yeah, this tickles a vague theory I have about how the Three Realms are constructed. I've seen vague hints that maybe everything is made of some basic building block, more basic than the atom (as the atom is only in the Physical Realm), an Investiatom, if you will. If this is so, then once people in the Physical Realm because extremely highly Invested, they might start seeing those building blocks. 1
Asperity he/him Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 I wonder if QM will ever become relevant to the Cosmere. Of course that would probably make things far more confusing than they already are (to us.)
Stormgate he/him Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 What happens when you burn an atom of Lerasium? Does it make a difference if (in a normal bead) the Lerasium is charged?
