Voidus Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Well yes but for one David has been shown to kind of backpadle on general statements he made about powers. Like there being a good number of powers that are at least fairly similair to Mitosis, so I just have to add a caveat like the powers only being assumed for as long as the duplicate remains unharmed. On a side note, I figured it would probably be best to edit that statement into a spoiler, so maybe you could add that into your quote as well? Yeah but this ones somewhat unique in that there's a reason only one person could do it. Mitosis was only unique because Calamity didn't bother giving mitosis to anyone else. Also I have just realized that one of my earliest character ideas is now possible. An Assumer Gifter could steal other Epics powers then gift them to people.

Normal Assumers still do exsist, worst case make a work around can be made with just turning all the victims into vegtables and keeping them in the basement while the duplicates do all of the hard work. Now the question is when y'all realize I'm mostly joking.

Edgedancer he/him Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 (edited) Yeah but it was stated that they have time limits, Larcener was the only one who didn't That's why you keep them in your basement, once your time limit runs out you just steal their powers again. Also, I can't quite remember, was it said that others only "rented" them and aren't permanent but specifically that all of them are limited by time? Edited February 17, 2016 by Edgedancer
Mestiv he/him Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Finished Calamity too! Now, I'd love to lead Argon to redemption somehow, but seeing how fast our RP is going, that will take 3 to 5 years to create enough story to make him want to face his fears...

Now, I'd love to lead Argon to redemption somehow, but seeing how fast our RP is going, that will take 3 to 5 years to create enough story to make him want to face his fears... We're going to have to be careful with redeemed Epics not to overdo it, obviously we all want some of our nicer Epics to be redeemed but if too many do it, particularly in deliberate fashion it somewhat breaks canon. It'd need to be things like what happened to Edmund and Obliteration, random accidents that the Epics don't really notice or understand. 1

Now, I'd love to lead Argon to redemption somehow, but seeing how fast our RP is going, that will take 3 to 5 years to create enough story to make him want to face his fears... That just means we have to keep going. Although, things seem a bit more complicated than just facing their fears but also the whole situation being set up to prove that humans aren't that bad after all.
RippleGylf she/her Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 I'll be fine... It will only be fifteen weeks until I can read it... *starts sobbing* 1

Also, I can't quite remember, was it said that others only "rented" them and aren't permanent but specifically that all of them are limited by time? Well not being permanent implies a time limit. But other than that no I don't think it was directly stated just that others rented them for a time.
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 I'll be fine... It will only be fifteen weeks until I can read it... *starts sobbing* Why must you suffer this horrible fate?
Kobold King he/him Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Spoilers for Calamity at about 39%: So far, Larcener's looking exactly like a High Epic Backtrack. "Guuuuuys, this new Epic is really scary! Can I stay here with you guys? Pleaaase?" "What do you mean I could rule the whole world? The Epics out there are scaaary, man." "David, I want a glass of waaaater..." 2
Voidus Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Spoilers for 100% Backtrack = Calamity. Who'd have thunk it. 1
RippleGylf she/her Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Why must you suffer this horrible fate? Because I'm sixth in line for my library's copy, and you can have books checked out for three weeks at a time.

Voidus Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Because I'm sixth in line for my library's copy, and you can have books checked out for three weeks at a time. No money to buy it?
RippleGylf she/her Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 No money to buy it? I'm pretty much broke at the moment, but I'm trying to find a job.
Voidus Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 I'm pretty much broke at the moment, but I'm trying to find a job. Me too, saved some ages ago for Calamity luckily but I'm hoping I get something soon so I can get the leatherbound Elantris. *Drools over leatherbound* 1
Mestiv he/him Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 *Drools over leatherbound* Don't do that, you may damage the book 2
Voidus Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Don't do that, you may damage the book Second spike I every got, turned my drool into a leather preservative.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted February 17, 2016 Author Posted February 17, 2016 Second spike I every got, turned my drool into a leather preservative. That seems like an oddly specific spike with a very strange story behind it.
Voidus Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 That seems like an oddly specific spike with a very strange story behind it. Spikes are like Epics, you only ever hear about the useful ones but there's a bunch of random ones most people never hear about. 1

Still. I want to know how the Inquisitors found a leather-preserving-drool Misting. 1
The Swan Dragon he/him Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 See, all I have of relevance is a copy of The Wheel of Time Companion, signed by the authors. Still no Calamity.
Elithanathile he/him Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 My brother is getting the audiobook of it. So after he listens to it, which will take a month or so, I can listen to it. And until then.... Have you guys heard of the calamity spoiler board? I think you put spoilers there. As opposed to here, where poor saps like me who haven't actually read the book yet lurk. Just a suggestion... I have no idea what you put in there, but I have this urge to click on a spoiler tag every time I see one, and you guys aren't helping. So please, be kind, and don't kill me slowly any more than you already have. On a side note, now that I've drastically reduced Falchions weapons, could I bring his age down again? 1

Sorry but a lot of it will be pretty important to the RP so it's not really practical to avoid discussing all spoilers here, I know it's tempting and sometimes you accidentally click on something but given that this is after all a Reckoners RP there will by necessity be some discussion of it.
