Rhaegar'Elin he/him Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Hey there, fellows Worldhopper! I'm Rhaegar'Elin, an Italian guy with a slight interest in Fantasy literature: if you are wondering, among my favourite series there are A Song of Ice and Fire, The Lord of the Rings and, of course, The Stormlight Archive. Though English is not my native speech (so bear with me when I'll do some error) I managed to read (and understand) the Cosmere Series in their original language... but I wasn't very confident of being able to discuss in an English Forum. This prevented me from joining the 17th Shard early, though I have been a lurker for a time. All this until now, when I, finally, decided to give it a try: it can't be so difficult, right? What else to say about me? I really like Cinema, reading manga and comics (expecially graphic novels) and videogaming. With all the time I spend on my interests, it's almost a miracle I'm able to prepare and take exams at University (the most of the times, at least) XD I hope to stay well in this forum! P.S. Feel free to point and correct my errors (in this and in my future posts): it will help me emprove (or so I hope). 5
baby he/him Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 (edited) Hi! Introductory upvote. Since you love reading Manga, I was wondering which ones you read. Any favorites? If you want to read more about the cosmere, then I'd tell you to read Mistborn. It's one of the main series in the cosmere, and has some pretty crazy magic systems too. Have a great time! EDIT: Your english isn't bad either. I wouldn't have known you weren't native. In fact, you speak better english that some people I know. Edited January 6, 2016 by Onceler
Kaymyth she/her Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Welcome! Watch out for the cookies; they have some rather distressingly metallic spices. (Yes, read Mistborn. Reeeeeead iiiiiit!) I took a few semesters of Italian back in college. Alas, that was pretty much back in the Dark Ages, so I really only remember about enough to be able to correct everybody's pronunciation.
KaIadin he/him Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Welcome! Accept the cookies; they have some rather tasty metallic spices. I agree. Do you want a cookie Rhaegar'Elin? 1
Stormgate he/him Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I agree. Do you want a cookie Rhaegar'Elin? And this is ClockWork. Watch his quotes, thankfully he's the only member of the Dark Alley who has taken to changing quotes.

EDIT: Your english isn't bad either. I wouldn't have known you weren't native. In fact, you speak better english that some people I know. Well, my favorites manga are Vagabond, Dorohedoro, Blade of the Immortal, Vinland Saga, FMA and all the manga of Naoki Urasawa. Also, I really, really like Onepunch-Man (and I guess you too like it, you have a Saitama avatar): it's among my favorites battle manga together with JoJo's Bizzarre Adventures (I love the Steel Ball Run part) and HxH. Honor mention for Berserk: it was great in its Golden Age Arc. On the Mistborn topic, I have already read Era I and it is indeed a great series! Welcome! Oh, thank you for the advice: I will be very wary of who offers me cookies XD Like written above, I have already read Mistborn - Era I and I really liked it. Actually, in the Cosmere, I have also read Elantris and Warbreaker: nothing to say, all of Sanderson's works are simply awesome! Though, I haven't read the Wax & Wayne Adventures yet (I understood it's slightly Steampunk and I like this kind of setting) and, also, the short novellas (I'm waiting for the book with all of them, like written in "State of the Sanderson": I hope The Emperor's Soul will be included). It's great you studied Italian! I agree. Do you want a cookie Rhaegar'Elin? Are those Hemalurgic Spikes? No, thanks XD I would gladly join the Dark Alley... but I don't like being skewered with Spikes, sorry And this is ClockWork. Watch his quotes, thankfully he's the only member of the Dark Alley who has taken to changing quotes. That's a problem, indeed. I suggest we start writing our posts in metal: only then we could trust the quotes! 3

Also I wouldn't say no to a chocolate-based bribe of some kind. Anyways welcome to the forums!
Citadel16 he/him Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 welcome to the forums. instead of joining the Dark Alley, would you like to slay some evil today? 1
Kaymyth she/her Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 The Mistborn Era 2 stuff is my favorite. (Quasi-Victorian/steampunk costuming potential + Mistborn + Wayne? Yes, please!) I am also a bit of a Wayne fangirl. Y'all might've noticed.

I like science, it's my branch of study you could say XD And I like cookies too (without metals, of course) so, in teory, I could join the DA. welcome to the forums. instead of joining the Dark Alley, would you like to slay some evil today? You are really tempting me: I absolutely love that Type IV Awekened Object XD Plus, I think that would really make happy the little voice in my head, doesn't it Darkstar? - Yeah! Let's slay some evil today - Well, I think I will be very busy in the next days choosing which guild should I join: DA or KB? The Mistborn Era 2 stuff is my favorite. (Quasi-Victorian/steampunk costuming potential + Mistborn + Wayne? Yes, please!) I am also a bit of a Wayne fangirl. Y'all might've noticed. I will surely read it XD
Stormgate he/him Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 Why not both? And maybe the Knights Awkward while you're at it.
Ookla the Absent Posted January 8, 2016 Posted January 8, 2016 Do you do any art? I may as well do my duty and try to get you to join the Guild of Arts, too.
