dyring
Consider the chapters set up by Tor. Shallan becoming betrothed to Adolin. Now, Shallan is from low nobility(compared to Adolin). Her family faces bankruptcy. She have some rather powerful enemies. Yet Navani suggests/agrees that she is to be betrothed to Adolin. I can see no other reason than that she was told by Jasnah that Shallan too can learn what Jasnah can. That Navani knows what Jasnah is becoming. What she can do. And Navani is listening to Dalinars visions. She was almost eager to believe them. I think this is a big reveal, but have she then told Jasnah of Dalinars visions? Im think propably not. But its almost impossible that she will not let them know of eachothers.... special circumstances. Opinions?
Macen he/him
It is a reasonable theory that Jasnah has told her mother of her powers, but I personally think she hasn't. I think the betrothal is coming more from a "Adolin has pushed every other girl away" and the fact that Jasnah recommended Shallan. From what I have gathered from the series so far, Jasnahs opinions carry heavy weight for those who know and care about her.A simple "she will be one of the greatest scholars of our time" from Jasnah would probably be enough for Navani.I'm not saying she doesn't know, I just doubt that Jasnah would have betrayed Shallan's secret without first consulting her. (Jasnah is all about them secrets).
Mysty she/her
Makes me wonder whether Navani has ever inspecter Jasnah's "soulcaster". If she has, she would realize as a renound artifabrian that it was non-functional and then would question Jasnah how on earth she was able to soulcast. But I suppose it is more likely to conclude that Jasnah never let her mother near the fake to preserve her secret. I lean more towards the "Adolin has pushed every other girl away" idea myself. Remember how Navani helped Adolin court Danlin by finding out she loved those melons? She knows his habbit of short relationships and has been trying to help lengthen them...to no avail so far.
Aoibheann she/her
I believe Navani is supposed to bring Jasnah in on her conversations regarding Dalinar's visions. Dalinar wants Jasnah's input and involved Navani because Jasnah was not at the Shattered Plains. I am sure that Jasnah has shared more with her mother than she shared with Shallan on paper. Chances are that Navani knows the soulcaster is a fake. She may have even helped Jasnah create it. (How the *bleep* would you solder with one hand?)
Macen he/him
I am sure that Jasnah has shared more with her mother than she shared with Shallan on paper. From how I interpretted the readings, Navani and Jasnah have a somewhat strained relationship. So, I personally doubt she has - but maybe. Chances are that Navani knows the soulcaster is a fake. She may have even helped Jasnah create it. (How the *bleep* would you solder with one hand?) This is possible, but I doubt Jasnah has let her mother get close enough to inspect it. Also, why would Navani question it? I'm sure she has seen Jasnah use it - that should be proof enough that it's real. Lastly, why would you need one hand to solder? Why couldn't she use two?.... shadewolf
Lastly, why would you need one hand to solder? Why couldn't she use two?.... I think he's referring to the vorin custom of safehands. Well to be honest, I doubt she'd be doing the souldering, just ordering around a toady to do it for her, this might be a moot point.
