Stormgate he/him Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 So, since we learn from the first two chapters of Calamity that (spoilers for safety) David's team is attacking Knighthawk Foundry I'm wondering what Knighthawk's powers are. From other threads I gather that the mobiles are Epic tech, probably gained from Knighthawk himself. So he likely has some form of telepathy. I would like to suggest that he has reverse gifting: He has the Epic powers of all the Epics around him, synthesized by keeping Epic mitochondrial DNA around him constantly. 2

I'm also not sure that mobiles are an example of any Epics powers, nor are gravitonics, they're too widespread for each one to have its own motivator. 1

It's been speculated before but I still highly doubt it since he's never used any powers that he wasn't Gifted and that I think Prof would be able to tell if his Gifting hadn't worked because David was an Epic. Plus it kind of undermines the whole refusing the powers scene from Firefight.

That is what caused him to not go all psycho-Epic. If he'd gotten Epic powers in the usual way (tied to his unconquered fears), he would've gone on a rampage whether he wanted to or not. That's why Regalia tried it with him in the first place: because he wouldn't have had a choice when it came to his Rending.
