I've given it some thought. There'd probably be three tiers: God tier, which contains Epics with powers that are very strong but not interesting to watch (insta-kills, essentially.) Corpsemaker would fall into this category. Then Normal tier, which has Epics with powers that are useful in combat, then hand-to-hand, which has Epics whose powers aren't really useful in combat, or vanillas who have become arena regulars. Epics can swap down to tiers lower than their own by switching powersets.

How is it configured? Huh. How about this. When two Epics fight, if the lower-ranked one wins, they immediately rise to the spot above the higher ranked one. It works on a challenge system where Epics can't refuse a challenge from an opponent within three ranks of them, but can accept them if they want to. Epics will only answer one challenge at a time, with Soulcaster deciding which one goes through. So Epics might do one or two fights a day, or none at all, depending on whether they challenged someone or someone challenged them. Wow. That block of text was pretty confusing, but yeah.

And should we have decided on all of this before we started writing the thread? Yes, probably.  :P

That was my first thought. I would do it, but I don't want to be repetitive. Especially after I figured out that his going after Lady Deathskull was almost exactly the same as one of the first few scenes in Astoria.

Actually he confronted Heartsleeve, not Deathskull

I like the idea of a challenge system, but all the fights we already pictured were surprise ones without either fighter knowing.

Pretty sure he's talking about a previous encounter.

I like this system Mckeedee but as Blackhoof said all the previos fights were not decided by the fighters. Soulcaster deciding fights based on his ideas makes more sense I think.

They were. I don't really care how the matches are figured (though I was thinking that using this system would make them seem a bit more intentional.) If Soulcaster does all of the matchmaking himself, though, do you still want to figure it by just ranking the winner directly above the loser?

Voidus, in Salem, if you want to just get a short POV from Switch in which he throws a few punches, fighting starts between Paradox, Redshirt, and Joseph and Switch and Doubletake, then someone high up breaking it up and putting the fight into the schedule for the next day.

yeah that sounds good. So even if Epics don't fight for a time, they retain their places until someone defeats them. Noobs start unordered at the bottom and find a place based on their first victories. We just need to make sure that noobs are always paired with a non-noob, for their first match at least.

A challenge system could work as well I guess. Soulcaster has the final say, but he would like the idea of fielding challenges like that I think.

Paradox and Redshirt v. Switch and Doubletake will be based on a challenge, so that'll work in that case. I like having rankings posting; it brings a cohesiveness that the fights have hitherto been lacking.

Ugh. Writing papers makes everything I type sound super formal. :(

I could send a Vanilla guard but Mouldbreaker's the one who'd usually be sent to deal with this so it's probably Mckeedee who'll post it.

I think Soulcaster will get some inspiration from this that the best way to avoid having to deal with this would be to set up a challenge system, that'll give us time to develop it before its fully implemented without demeaning all the previous fights.

On another note: Is anyone in the MONA free at the moment?/Is there anything PP and Saccharine could be doing? Mrs. Voidus is in the mood for some RPing of late.

Also, who are all the players in the Dominion? I'd like to get a group chat going so we can plan.

Let's see….

Me: Quota

mail-mi: Timeport

Voidus: Streetwise

Mailliw: Electro

There's more, I'm sure of it, but that's everyone I can think of off the top of my head.

Speaking of, do you want to take Quota and Timeport to Corpsey's meeting or shall I? Quota hasn't responded to Timeport yet.

I wasn't sure what to have him say besides "Heck yes! You know I love me some murdering of innocents!

Excellent, thank you :)

well at least now you can have him say that and then have a soldier come in and invite him to the meeting.

 So is that an "I'll take it" or an "I'm out of brain bleach, can you write it while I run to the store to buy a few more metric tons?"

…more of a, "If you can think of something for them to do or say on the way, I'd be fine with a conversation, but if you're as stuck as I am, I'd be fine with a cut to Corpsey's meeting room."

There's actually quite a few NPCs in the Dominion, which might let more people join if Twi and Blackhoof are ok with it.

Off the top of my head: Toymaker, Collaborate, Upgrade, Leech (I think) and Murphy (Who I've tentatively claimed for the moment but am more than happy for someone else to write if they want to.

Yeah I was just thinking that.

Well while more people will be harder to organise, if anyone really wants to take control of some of these, then that would be ok with me. Toymaker and Upgrade are probably not worth it, but its up to them.

Kobold at least mentioned taking Upgrade.

Also, Freeze/Frozen(can't remember which version I used), is also an NPC in the Dominion that Electro recruited.

You people really like to fill out ranks with NPCs like that, don't you.

Voidus did the New guy talk with you in advance?

*Hides the MEE under his bed*

No.... I don't know what you could be talking about.

I'm not sure, I vaguely remember the Epic name but I can't find anything other than the Epics of Oregon post about it so I don't think he did, I'll shoot him a PM.
