Claude Aradel, constable-general of the Fourth Octant, picked through the scene. In many ways, he didn’t look like a constable should. His rectangular face had a few days’ worth of red stubble on it; he shaved when the mood struck him. His leathery skin, furrowed with wrinkles, attested to days spent in the field, not behind a desk. He was probably pushing sixty at this point, though he wouldn’t divulge his true age, and even the octant records had a question mark next to his birth date.

 (emphasis mine.)

Birthdate is unknown. Leathery skin that she assumes is from being in the field could be naturally darker due to Terris ancestry.

What is the likelihood that Aradel is quietly extending his age or perhaps is a kandra?  Can we find other clues to refute/support this possibility?

In context it would seem he is hiding his exact age to not be pushed into retirement. With that said, I very much like this idea. It seems exactly like the type of misdirection Brandon uses.

I thought about something like this and decided that it would be too obvious for Brandon. He is far more subtle than "a question mark next to his birth date". Could he pull a double whammy a la "I'll foreshadow it so obviously, nobody will think it foreshadowing"? Sure, but I don't think that's his style.

Wasn't there a WoB that stated he descended from Goradel, the skaa from the first Mistborn trilogy?

I can't find it because theoryland searching doesn't work for me, for whatever reason.

It is referenced in book although I would guess that Brandon confirmed it at one of the signings.

So his great, great, great granddaddy was Goradel. Doesn't stop his great, great grandma from being Terris and allowing him to be Twinborn.

and furthering the, "Everyone saw that coming" thought, it's unlikely that Brandon would make the (Interim) Governor a kandra again. He's done that one twice just in SoS, so you're probably right. Aradel's probably just old and doesn't want to stop conning.

the side effect of brandon using foreshadowing the way he does is that the forum has developed a lot of epilectic trees ready to jump on any detail, no matter how insignificant, and see deep meaning on it.

not saying it is wrong in this case. i also found it suspicious. just like there are thousands of other innocent details that can be possibly suspicious if seen under a certain light. only madness lies in that path.

“But I don't want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked. “Oh, you can't help that,” said the Cat: “we're all mad here. You're mad. I'm mad."
