Adrienne she/her Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 so many patterns for awesome stuff That's my motivation. I think I'm leaning towards learning crotchet over knitting for now. I love that youtube has a lot of beginner videos.
Darth Squirrely she/her Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 I know, you can learn how to do just about anything on youtube, these days! And once you do get into knitting, crocheting, etc; Ravelry.com is an awesome website to get TONS of free patterns, as well as those you have to purchase.... And it's also got a pretty fun community, too.
EHyde she/her Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 ooh, the Dr Who scarf is how I learned to knit It's a great beginners project because once you are finished you will be so sick of garter stitch you just have to learn more complicated techniques The sweatervest I'm wearing in that photo was my second project. 2
Darth Squirrely she/her Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 Wow, that's so cool! I don't think I'm ready for that type of thing yet.... But you did a really great job, I like it lots!
Adrienne she/her Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Thanks for the tip with the site! I picked up the hooks and some yarn yesterday. When I can find the time to sit down and start will be a challenge. I love those scarfs (even though I've never seen the show). It was a hard choice because you can knit/crotchet so many similar items.
KChan she/her Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 That Dr. Who scarf looks great! Omg, I want one! =O Learning to knit - or crochet more than various chain stitches - will have to wait, though. I finally purchased myself the sewing machine of my dreams - the Singer CG550 - and am waiting in breathless anticipation for it to arrive so I can start sewing. X3
