Shard of Choice he/him Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Hello everyone. So I've been trying like crazy to think of lots of interesting ways to use Allomancy and Feruchemy in less obvious more clever ways. So I thought I'd ask you great people at the forums. What's the most clever way to use any any combination or single power of The Metallic Arts. Mine is for an Iron Compounder to tap enough mass to create his own gravitational pull.
Mailliw73 he/him Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Um, first off, for some reason you accidentally made four topics. On the topic, Compund speed so much that just you breathing causes you to blur. Pull a (putting this in spoilers because it affects a character from TWoK) Taravangian and store so much mental speed that people think you're a complacent idiot, then when they least expect it, Tap all that mental speed and conquer them. This second one isn't really for combat and neither of these are all that clever just fun ways to use it. Oh, one that actually works. Compound insane amounts of Luck and just toss tons of arrows at your enemy.

Swimmingly he/him Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Cadmium Compounder in an untethered spacesuit - takes a lot longer to run out of air, though you would want to scrub out CO2 and replace it with helium or something to prevent blood poisoning. Feruchemical brass and Allomantic iron to coat yourself in a skin of molten metal, by filling the brass so the metal doesn't hurt you. A double Iron "skiing" behind a train by reducing their weight, wearing a wingsuit, and Pulling on the train. Feruchemical brass and Allomantic steel spitting red-hot metal shards. compounding bendalloy and surgically removing the fat to create a very icky food source.
Moogle Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Electrum and instant gambling. Plan to make a certain face if you win and a different one if you lose. Look at the electrum shadows, wait until one looks like they won, and then gamble your money. Become rich!
bartbug he/him Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Zinc and Steel Compounding. It would be like the whole rest of the world would be moving in slow motion. So kind of like a time bubble that you could take with you.
Claincy he/him Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 A couple of fun examples from my roleplaying groups. -A mistborn while infiltrating a manor, knowing that there were guards coming, pushed a pot off a bench in a kitchen elsewhere in the manor, making quite a bit of noise and luring away the guards. -Keeper bomb. They were attacking a barge convoy and they decided to have the mistborn pick up the keeper, steeljump over a barge and drop him. The keeper then tapped large quantities of weight. It was very effective and rather entertaining.
Kurkistan he/him Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Also from Claincy's roleplaying groups is to use a pair of Seeker/Misting walking around the streets near suspected hideouts: if the Seeker can't detect his Thug buddy anymore, then congratulations, you just "Seeked" out a coppercloud. 2
Gamma Fiend he/him Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 (edited) Since we don't know how storing Identity Feruchemically exactly works, my baseless speculation would be, get into a fight with somebody, then start storing your identity until the person you're fighting doesn't recognize you as the person they were fighting with anymore....might work...Edit: also, The Author of the Thread(s) IS the Shard of Choice. Maybe he was just giving us the option of which thread to post in? Edited November 16, 2013 by Gamma Fiend

Two Seekers would work better - if either wanders under a coppercloud, the other one knows.
Kurkistan he/him Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 True. That's just the scenario that happened in the game. 1
