I got it from the fact that he wants peace rather than war using digging holes as a metaphor for war

As I didn't feel compelled to read 101 pages of this, these are only restricted to Sanderson-original characters, right? So it's not just Cosmere?

Is it someone not at all in the Cosmere?  (This is a different question than asking if it was a "Cosmere POV" character.)

nope and nope. It takes place on earth. (although you could argue that this character isn't on earth)
