The Honor Spren she/her Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) I found a very sinister-sounding cover of "Blank Space" recently. At first I was like: Oh wow, this is cool. I think I like it better than the real one.But then it got to the screaming part and I started thinking: This reminds me of Zane . . . That's not good. Edit: I still think it's cool, but in a dark way. Edited October 13, 2015 by The Honor Spren
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I found a very sinister-sounding cover of "Blank Space" recently. I was already disturbed enough today, thanks Twi.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Edit: uhhh I found that Blank Space hilarious. And I kind of like it. ................. ................. At first I was like: Oh wow, this is cool. I think I like it better than the real one. But then it got to the screaming part and I started thinking: This reminds me of Zane . . . That's not good. Edit: I still think it's cool, but in a dark way. I was already disturbed enough today, thanks Twi. I bought the song, so no judgements. I actually really like that version, just as much as the original I think. It's disturbing, but in an purposeful way. It takes the lyrics, puts them into a less satirical and more serious context, and adds instruments to match. That's what I like about it—it makes you see the original in a different light. In other news, I just applied for a job in Cincinnati, OH. It looks….nice. Like what everyone means when they talk about "all-American towns." 1
Zathoth Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) Nevermind me, just bringing some more disturbing into the thread. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqqRBCOujKw Crimson Glory - Lost Reflection For extra disturbing look up the one which has the song along with the artwork of HR Giger. (Im not going to link that one, I think of the children mmmm delicious lies) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqKtfPxLTpk Acid Bath - Scream Of The Butterfly And I cant find their incredibly disturbing song number 2... Oh well, have fun. Edited October 13, 2015 by Morzathoth
Kobold King he/him Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I found a very sinister-sounding cover of "Blank Space" recently. ...Am I the only one getting a stalker/serial killer vibe from this?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 ...Am I the only one getting a stalker/serial killer vibe from this? Nope.
Mistrunner Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I have a new book! It came out yesterday! And it's good! I also finally got a library card. And checked out Alloy of Law for a reread and requested Shadows of Self. I also watched The Fellowship of the Ring. Today was a good day. 1
Quiver he/him Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Which is better: Writing 5,000 terrible words that need editing later, or a single, masterful paragraph of exquisite prose? 2
Mistrunner Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Which is better: Writing 5,000 terrible words that need editing later, or a single, masterful paragraph of exquisite prose? Well, usually I go for half and half. A single paragraph of terrible words that needs editing later. 5
Zathoth Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Which is better: Writing 5,000 terrible words that need editing later, or a single, masterful paragraph of exquisite prose? I want to believe that I am doing the second one, considering the 7 upvotes my weird stories got I figure that there are at least a couple lines of masterful, exquisite prose. Or at least, ya know, decent.
Kaymyth she/her Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Which is better: Writing 5,000 terrible words that need editing later, or a single, masterful paragraph of exquisite prose? 5,000 words that need editing. Because at least they're there, and have the potential to be turned into 5,000 words of exquisite prose in the future. 4
Mashadar Mistborn he/him Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) I went to a college tour today, and while I was there, I saw a guy walking a little pug puppy. So cute. Twi, you have a new convert to The Way of the Ancient Hound. Edited October 13, 2015 by Mashadar Mistborn 2

Kobold King he/him Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 It's fascinating to think that in only a few thousand years, stocky flat-nosed pugs were bred from fierce wolves. It's even more fascinating to see the visual record our ancestors left of the transformation: 1745: 1761: 1859: 1915: 2095: 2

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Am I the only one getting a Zane vibe from this? Which book is Zane from again? I don't think I've read it.
Mashadar Mistborn he/him Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Which book is Zane from again? I don't think I've read it. Well of Ascension. And thus let his name be spoken no more outside of spoilers. 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Well of Ascension. And thus let his name be spoken no more outside of spoilers. Ah, right. I need to finish that one, if only for Memeborn.
Kobold King he/him Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 "Who dropped this crumb on the floor? We're going to attract mice." "I don't think mice are going to be an issue here." "Why not?" "Because our house is elevated above the ground by thick posts, and we have twenty cats. At least ten of those are killers." "Oh." "This place isn't attractive to mice. If anything, this is where sinful mice go where they die." 6
Kestrel she/her Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Bleh I'm tried and don't want to take the psat tomorrow
Kobold King he/him Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I present my family, ladies and gentlemen. (Except my sisters. They usually- you may want to sit down for this- look normal and good in pictures. Shocking, I know.) My parents and siblings are extremely photogenic people. When I appear in photos though, I appear blurry, seemingly scowling vaguely in the camera's general direction, and looking generally like the photograph of a serial killer from the "Early Life" part of his Wikipedia article. Needless to say, I try to avoid getting my picture taken. 2
Kestrel she/her Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Hm. I wonder why I always look so bad in photos Then I look into the mirror and suddenly I understand.

Mashadar Mistborn he/him Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Hm. I wonder why I always look so bad in photos Then I look into the mirror and suddenly I understand. Don't. Just don't. I've seen the pictures in the appearance thread and you have no reason to say such a thing. Anyways, my driver's license looks like a mug shot because I cannot fake smile. 3
