ChickenPlague he/him Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Thank you. This is gonna be very helpful when I map cities, towns or Lumuole hotspots. I am currently working on a political map of the Ices and it's making me think of Avatar for some reason.
Mckeedee123 he/him Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 (edited) Thank you. This is gonna be very helpful when I map cities, towns or Lumuole hotspots. I am currently working on a political map of the Ices and it's making me think of Avatar for some reason. I like where this is going. I've been thinking about a new region called the "Cenni Highlands" located just to the east of the Torbud Empire. Would it be okay to extend out "my" area east to the edge of the desert? At this point, it's unlikely we'll fill up the entire world anyway, right? Edited November 30, 2015 by Mckeedee123
ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 @SirJerric Hello. Could you possibly modify the base map to reshape the island? All the water within the blue shape is supposed to be a glacier made by the inhabitants of the island and the main island should be a bit smaller than currently. Also I would appreciate if you could reshape the blue to look better and the left side is a bit too close to the lower island. Hope it's not too much work.
Mckeedee123 he/him Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Wouldn't it be a glacier anyway most of the time? That's pretty far south.
ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 Yeah but this is a permament Glacier and it's gonna be pretty confusing if I(for example) say that there are small short-term red lumuole hotspots in the glaciers but the picture don't show it.
Sir Jerric he/him Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 EF is defined as Polar Ice Cap. All of the dark grey areas and most of the ocean between and around are permanent ice unless magical exceptions are made. I probably should have colored over the oceans in the pretty colors map to represent that.
ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 10, 2015 Posted December 10, 2015 (edited) Hmmm... Okay gonna rework the islands a lot. And yes you should probably color it in. Edit: also could you turn the island I talked about previously into a lot of smaller islands(kinda like the 1 to the left and slightly lower) with bigger ones in the center? This just works much better for me. Edited December 10, 2015 by ChickenPlague
Young Bard he/him Posted December 12, 2015 Author Posted December 12, 2015 (edited) Sorry for the delay... Busy Days. It should be up to date now. (With the exception of Twi. I'm hoping she'll still come round and join back in.) EDIT: Or not. An uploading issue... My computer's acting funny. I'll upload it when I can. Maybe I'll do it via imgur, and then copy it into here? EDIT 2: Fixed. It is now up to date. Edited December 12, 2015 by The Young Bard
Young Bard he/him Posted December 16, 2015 Author Posted December 16, 2015 Hey you missed 1 island My apologies. I've added it on my personal file. Internet's a bit dodgy at the moment, so I'll wait for something a bit more substantial to come through before I add it in, because I don't want to go through the hoops of trying to work out what's wrong with my internet (again).
Stormgate he/him Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) I'm going to make a request that may be simple, maybe not. A piece of the world with both ice and bare land. Preferably, the ice is in the mountains, but since the map is already made and all that, I won't be too picky. Note: I would read the map to see what this is, but I can't read the abbreviations. As in, I don't know what they mean. Edited December 19, 2015 by Stormgate
Sir Jerric he/him Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Ice caps in the mountains can be had anywhere on the map. So long as you don't feel the need to make those ice caps massive, there won't be any contradictions to worry about. If you do want large mountain ranges and ice caps, find a H (purple) region, preferably near the D (cold) regions. My working resolution has pixels of 8 miles by 8 miles (12 km) or more (curvature), so I am just ignoring rivers (unless you see a lot of eight mile wide river crossings?). And as for mountains, the exact topography is flexible. I need to mark the extreme changes in elevation for my climatology, but lone peaks, scattered peaks, and low ranges are not worth marking at my scale. Since it doesn't seem to have been linked elsewhere (that I found on short notice, at least), here is the finalized map post that links to climate notation and explains the basic astronomy.
Stormgate he/him Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I think I have figured out what I want. Since I am doing this on a tablet, here is my choice (the unselected part of the picture)
ChickenPlague he/him Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) *hugs new neighbour* Hi I am the owner of region 17. Edited December 19, 2015 by ChickenPlague
Stormgate he/him Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) Is there a map of Diaemus on the wiki, with the various regions outlined? I can't find one. Hi, Plague. I have some ideas for lumuoles that completely contradict just about everything I found on the wiki. I'm going to do my best to keep them contained, but feel free to incorporate them into your territory, should you so choose. Edited December 19, 2015 by Stormgate

Here you go: I've probably missed a few, but those are all the named regions that I know of currently. I don't think there's any such thing as something you can't do with this magic system. You missed the entire discussion there, but I dare you to come up with something, anything, that it doesn't allow. Edited December 19, 2015 by Mckeedee123

Also, challenge accepted:). You can see the basics of my rule-breaking in the main thread.Also...which region am I in, exactly? ChickenPlague might be the best to respond, but anyone can. Mckeedee123 he/him Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Thanks for the map! Wow... We have a lot of unexplored land. Also, challenge accepted:). You can see the basics of my rule-breaking in the main thread. Well, the map of claimed lands is here But yeah. FYI though, the lumuole "associations" are just suggestions. You do not need to create a new type of lumuole to explain any powers you want to make. I just put that in there because I thought it would help people to come up with ideas. Of course, if you do want to create region-specific varieties, that's fine...
Stormgate he/him Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 I want white lumuoles to do stuff, since they are almost universally (is that the right word for something that applies only to one planet?) ignored. Also, I like doing stuff that others don't do, so I may decide to invent black lumuoles. I have no idea what they might do, but I might invent them.

Also, I like doing stuff that others don't do, so I may decide to invent black lumuoles. I have no idea what they might do, but I might invent them. The reason they don't do anything is that we had some disagreements over what type of magic system we would use. Edgedancer had an idea for having magic "minerals," so white lumuoles were specifically made to accomodate that when we came up with this system. Edge is going to use them, along with some other people. I guess it's fine if you want to have them do something different in your region.
Stormgate he/him Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Exactly which region am I in? As far as I can tell from the map, my region is the Twilight Ocean. Since most of my area is actually on land, I would like another name.
