Edgedancer he/him Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Any of my characters due for a post? Apart from the new ones? I don't really think so.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted November 11, 2015 Author Posted November 11, 2015 Joe and I had plans for CM's weakness being set off further down the road, Blackhoof. Did you want me to Alan you, or did Kobold and Edge already take care of it?
ChickenPlague he/him Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 (edited) Hey if some one looked at Salem from afar what would it look like? Can someone name some notable features? Also any suggestions for shortening the name Bird of Paradise other than Birdy? Because that was a horrible idea as i found out when trying to write anything dignified. Also what is the reckonverse currency? Edited November 11, 2015 by Dayblood
Edgedancer he/him Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Jo and I had plans for CM's weakness being set off further down the road, Blackhoof. Did you want me to Alan you, or did Kobold and Edge already take care of it? Kobold gets a Corpsemaker weakness triggered, you get a Corpsemaker weakness triggered only I am not glammering on getting one, even though I have the perfect excuse for it and it happened in game. Hey if some one looked at Salem from afar what would it look like? Can someone name some notable features? Flying penut trees, a big pink elephant statue and a wild west style clock tower in the centre of town or at least that's what it would look like if Funtimes was done with it. (Why am I making so many jokes like this today? )
Mckeedee123 he/him Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Hey if some one looked at Salem from afar what would it look like? Can someone name some notable features? Also any suggestions for shortening the name Bird of Paradise other than Birdy? Because that was a horrible idea as i found out when trying to write anything dignified. Google Images says it looks like this: We have plenty of Epics that have unwieldy names, and we usually just have them refer to themselves in shorthand. He might call himself "Bird," for instance.

Also what is the reckonverse currency? Huh, there were edits. How about, Paradiso! Otherwise just Bird would probably be simplest. I don't think there really still is an universal currency like we have today. Although, gold is still very much valuable. Edited November 11, 2015 by Edgedancer 1

Also what is the reckonverse currency? Well the arena's probably the most notable feature of recent development, other than that it's pretty similar to how it looks now.

Kobold King he/him Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Or drive you completely insane. Usually both. Shshsh, I was going to leave that part a surprise.
Blackhoof Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Maybe we should tell him that the weakness of Corpsemaker is actually people dating dinosaurs. what a bizarrely specific and convenient weakness Joe and I had plans for CM's weakness being set off further down the road, Blackhoof. Did you want me to Alan you, or did Kobold and Edge already take care of it? Yeah, an alan would be cool thanks I still haven't read the entirety of portland, but I have been trying to get through Corpsemaker's posts. I see references to some big plan CM is drawing up, in multiple phases. Was it ever revealed in-thread what it would entail, or did Jo ever discuss it with anyone? Or is it just an unknown at the moment? Yes, another Darwin post. This time some backstory. (No, Ivystorm's weakness isn't fire. Good guess.) And Ivystorm becomes even more of a slontze! Jesus christ that was dark. Just as it should be, but damnation hi Im new to this... ... ... Help? welcome! Would you like to join our RP? Do you have an idea for a character, or for a place you would like to RP in?

Voidus Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 hey, i never said I had the right answers, did I? do I send the character pitch in a PM or just post it up here? Just post it here, you don't have to mention the weakness except in a PM to the GM though, although you can if you want to.

Considering the Epics in this game are well below Steelheart's level, those powers make him way too OP for this game. I'd also recommend getting rid of precognition, since for that to work you need to know what's going to happen next--and since we do so much stuff on the fly here, it would be next to impossible to make a precog work in this game. I'd recommend picking two, maybe three of the powers you posted and sticking with those.
Voidus Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Plus Prof is the only known Epic to have multiple High Epic abilities.

(no, I did not get that from Portal) the jumping, well, I cant tell people about that without telling them my weakness first. also, he has a lot of rumor circulating him. so info is hard to find on him. I wrote that the way I did to show the lack of information and the scariness of his profile edit :also I wrote that as if he was real and I was part of that world so take it with a (ahem) pinch of copper Edited November 12, 2015 by warriormark16

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted November 12, 2015 Author Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) From all we've seen in canon, all Epics appear to have two or three powers standard. Steelheart's number of powers makes him an outlier. Level doesn't matter; Refractionary had illusions and invisibility, despite both of them being rather low-level. Besides, when you give one Epic a dozen different powers, it doesn't matter if they're all Class D, because a dozen different abilities means a dozen different basic advantages. That isn't even taking into account all the different uses Epics find for their powers. Class D or not, the sheer number of powers (which, unless the third book proves is wrong, is canon breaking) makes the Hunter pretty sparking OP. Edited November 12, 2015 by TwiLyghtSansSparkles
Blackhoof Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Also, does anyone want to interact with Gelliton in Corvallis? I feel bad just leaving her there. Well she could ally with/be attacked by Iconoclast, if you like.
ChickenPlague he/him Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Warrior that is way too many powers. He simply has a power for almost any situation. Epics using their powers in different and creative ways is cool. Epics just using a different power for each situation is boring. And of course Hunter is OP. Having 1 powerful power is ok. It means the Epics have weaknesses and strengths. Hunter could actually be cool with gun portals but without the range limitation. Also should keep the shields and make them more powerful somehow. 1

Blackhoof Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I'm concerned about the number of Epic deaths you have given him as well- 86 is a LOT of Epics, considering how rare they are, unless he has been travelling across North America or broader. If he is a human using a lot of epic tech, then unfortunately that doesn't work either I'm afraid. Only one Epic tech piece can be used at any one time, but he can always have a stash of several that he can swap out at need.
