Here's the picture.

As for the Australia game, it's your business but listening to this, if you do both normal character interaction within what 5 cities by now? with characters for each players and large scale conflicts between those cities with intrigues, I'm pretty sure that you're going to overtax yourselves, so you might want to start on a little bit of a smaller scale to test out the waters.

Well I think the large scale conflicts would be something almost like a sub-plot, I think of it as more like the turf wars in Portland, there'll be occasional skirmishes and such but the full scale warfare will wait until the RPs got quite a bit of momentum

Do you mind if I take Brisbane? Renamed: Riftbane

Do you want to rename Australia itself? That could make the thread look a bit more unique. Wastralia, Darkstralia, Ruinstralia... or maybe just The Wastelands.

And does anyone else think it would be cool to have groups of road bandits running around the desert a la Mad Max?

Done.

Love the idea of the wastelands and the desert bandits. So unless anyone else has objections on that front I'm fanonzing it. :D

Hey, can I get a city? i had an idea for triplets from New Zealand ruling the city, two of whom are conjoined. They have a string/Fates theme, with one (conjoined) able to make a string that represents a person (ex. color shows mood, can divine some things from having strings together) and create strings in general, the second (unconjoined) able to "tie" people together - basically voodoo, so a negative tie means damage to one damages the other, while positive means you have to damage both to hurt them permanently - and a third (conjoined) who can cut her sister's strings to kill people she sees, and summon scissors from nowhere. They rule the city with a Mount Olympus theme, so Epics fit into the pantheon, while peasants serve them. In the middle of this is the triplet's elder sister, who is a vanilla. she runs the city, since her sisters are very unpersonable and not good with bureaucracy. I'm fine with other people adding themselves into this city too, though Epics would be understandably limited to a few dozen at the most (except for really minor powers that could be termed satyr or naiad level power), could maybe have a theme that other Epics are monsters

Could work, any city in mind?

Most of the larger cities are taken so there'd probably only be 1 High Epic in each of the remaining cities (Canberra and Hobart are left I think)

Only potential problem I see is how their vanilla sister survived their rending.

I have a bit of an issue with again three epic sisters though.

Still, Canberra is available? Should have 30 Epics or so, but no highs, and parliament house could make a nice temple :P

To be entirely honest with you, I just think you are currently bloating with admittedly awesome ideas but looking at it measured by locations you already eclipsed the scale of the RP, which seems impossible to uphold with anything resembling a consistent pace. 18th also just pitched an entire city concept, which would make a turf war scenario like that impossible. Winter also already mentioned opting for only controling her city and MrMistborn at least sounded pretty excited about getting his hands on large armies, which would go against making the large scale a side plot. As someone looking at this from a more distant perspective I would just encourage you guys greatly to first actually agree on what it is you want to do before you end up throwing so much undirected mental weight into this that it won't manage to get off the ground in the first place.

I don't think the pacing would be an issue, or rather if it would it would be an issue no matter what the scale was. If people wrote at the pace they do in the regular RP it would be a problem but the whole point is for it to be faster paced.

The turf war concept would be on a city scale so 18ths city concept would I suppose be analogous to Thoughttown, thematically relevant as a means of distinguishing the city.

I agree that details need to be ironed out though so just to be clear your city will be open to attacks by other cities, full scale wars will be arranged between players but single Epics or a small group of soldiers can be expected to appear relatively frequently and may cause a disturbance.

I think it would rely on a commitment for players to remain pretty active, certainly a lot more active than we are all used to.

Something in the realm of one post per week from each player would be the slowest we should aim for, I think (within reason, of course). Obviously RL can get in the way and we have lives outside this RP, but for a fast-paced game activity is just necessary.

Maybe we should limit the number of players to just a small group, and only players who believe that they can personally fit such a fast pace of RPing in. If they can't, them sticking with Oregon would probably be for the best.

It sounds mean as I say it :/ but I guess it is no different from games like Sanderson Elimination/Mafia where players need to dedicate time to post once a day or so (preferably much more) or the game just doesn't work. Its a precondition of joining.

Agreed, I think the time ratio would start at about 1 day:1 week RL time, to get everyone used to it and if people end up waiting for time to pass before posting again then we could potentially increase it to faster.

Ideally I'd like people to post at least once a day when possible once it really gets started, obviously if RL intervenes and anyone needs a few days' absence that'd be fine although for extended absences (Multiple in-game days) we might need to work something out about what'll happen to the city in the meantime.

I think we have a good number of people to start getting into some serious planning and make sure everyones sure on the details of what'll be needed.

So far we have:

Adelaide-Voidus-Ready and raring to go.

Perth-Mr. Mistborn

Brisbane-Mckeedee

Sydney-Venture

Melbourne-Blackhoof

Darwin-Winter

Hobart/Canberra-18th Shard, currently undecided on which city

Blaze-Not ruling a city but is somewhere with his ice-manipulating Epic.

So are you guys all good to try to get a couple posts a week in? Again this is all starting off pretty experimental so if it gets too much don't hesitate to bring it up and we can talk about changing pace, less skirmishing or whatever it takes, we all just want to have another awesome RP to play in and a country a few dozen times the size of Oregon to destroy :P

I should be able to get around 2/3 in a week, and I am ready to go, so we'll just need to start a planning thread and then absolutely destroy my beloved home country!

It'll be separate from the Questions, then?

Not sure, if we start filling the questions thread with actual planning instead of pugs and ponies the internet might explode.

Funtimes lifted one foot, twirling it through the air so Altermind could admire her blinky sock. "Helpy helper, that's me."

Theory: Funtimes is a ballerina.

Status: Confirmed.

Funtimes the ballerina. That's a new one.

Any theories about Nathan and the TARDIS?

There's no mention of her propping her foot on the table, so I must presume that this--

ballerina-02.jpg

--is what she's doing. :P

(Nathan is a descendant of the Ponds, hence the vibrant ginger hair and the fascination with the Doctor.)

I was picturing something more like this:

but without the kiss. Yours works too, though. :P

(And since the Doctor never just, you know, landed in New Jersey and drove to New York to visit, Nathan grew up with legends and stories, but no appearances. Makes sense to me.

The picture doesn't work for me. Maybe my mind just can't handle ballerina Funtimes. :P

Wait, Nathan is one of River's regenerations?

Without the kiss? With Nathan in the room, I'm not sure that's the most plausible scenario. :P

(To be fair, we don't know that Eleven never did stop by, once he'd gotten over his initial emotional breakdown. :P)

Would her tutu look something like this?
