MrMistborn he/him Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I don't think anyone who's joining the Australia is fully sane. And i can't wait to see our lack of sanity plays out when we get our grubby mitts on massive armies! 1
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Yeah the latter. Write by the seat of our pants? Not sure how it'll work out, it's mostly just a test to see how a RP with a bit more fixed rules might go, so the structure, rules and time ratio will probably change as we figure out problems. But also it'll probably have a bit of a different focus, more large scale conflicts, some battles between regular soldiers, perhaps some Epics hiding in the ranks to help turn the tide. So basically I have no idea. But I wouldn't be here if I was sane would I? So it will probably end up as a "turn equals x amount of time you get y actions per turn and roleplay is more decor than anything" type of game?
Voidus Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 So it will probably end up as a "turn equals x amount of time you get y actions per turn and roleplay is more decor than anything" type of game? Possibly, not really sure how hard and rules based we'll go, I'm pretty open to ideas on the subject if anyone has any. Essentially I'm just hoping for something with a fixed pace.

Voidus Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 So something you might riddle me then. With everyone taking control over entire cities, what happens to the individuel characters? How do you mean? They'd still have interactions inside of their own city, that's one reason I'm hoping we can get a few more players and double up on players for each city to provide some more character interaction. Alternatively I suppose players can rule one city but have lesser Epics in other cities for interaction. I don't think anyone who's joining the Australia is fully sane. And i can't wait to see our lack of sanity plays out when we get our grubby mitts on massive armies! Forget the armies I'm just looking forward to finally filling an entire city with Epics. Since I realized that the MEE was way larger than it had any right to be I've tried to hold back on introducing new characters to it unless necessary but now I can finally unleash a few hundred Epics from my files. Australia shall never be the same once I have unleashed the likes of the IndestructibleBeard, Naturopod, Shovelface and ReverseCyclops
MrMistborn he/him Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) Oh god- IndestrictibleBeard, ReverseCyclops? I'm quivering in terror! Where can I find all of your amazing epic profiles? Also I wonder who will choose to be in Perth with Me. I think we may end up the reject city Edited October 30, 2015 by MrMistborn 1

I think we may end up the reject city The IndestructibleBeard has a beard which is indestructible and ReverseCyclops has the ability to shoot lasers from other objects into his eyes. Now quake in terror mortals! Well I did mention that I have cousins in Perth, I'm happy to RP as a minor Epic living in their house. And don't worry, I definitely wouldn't use that Epic to sabotage your war efforts. EDIT: Some are in a google doc here somewhere, I'll try to find a link. Most are in an assortment of word docs on my various computers. Edited October 30, 2015 by Voidus
Blaze1616 he/him Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I'd be down to join Australia. I have just the epic too. He can control water, but only when the molecules are highly structured, i.e. frozen water. In Australia. It'll be awesome. 1

I definitely plan on giving one of my Australian Epics a weakness of spiders so that'll be fun too. Any idea where you want to be based? Or if you'd rather be in a city held by another player or rule your own?
Blaze1616 he/him Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 I'd rather be a pawn. He's not a High Epic, so no ruling cities for him.
Voidus Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Can I have a city in Australia? You can indeed, any preferences? Brisbane, Darwin, Hobart and the capital of Canberra are all still available.
Voidus Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Darwin! Ok, you have 1/8 of a High Epic in your city But I guess we can say you get at least 1 anyway. 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 Ok, you have 1/8 of a High Epic in your city But I guess we can say you get at least 1 anyway. 1/8 of a High Epic? But I thought Backtrack was in Oregon? 3
Voidus Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 1/8 of a High Epic? But I thought Backtrack was in Oregon? Speaking of fractions I'm interested in how the Financier would treat 1/7th fractions, would he hate the fact that the One was in it? Or would he be happy that it shows one in a position of triumph, standing over seven? 1
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 1/8 of a High Epic? But I thought Backtrack was in Oregon? No no, he's only 1/8 of an Epic nothing high about him. Also I got a pug mug today. 3
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 The fact that the One was divided would please the Financier greatly. (Also, they need to add multi quote to mobile.) No no, he's only 1/8 of an Epic nothing high about him. Also I got a pug mug today. Ah, that's right. Pics please.

This is a perfect time to plug my Epic!Megamind again: Backtrack may have powers given by calamity but there's nothing Epic about him. What's the difference? Edited October 30, 2015 by Voidus 4
Voidus Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Ooh! Maybe I can finally use the page long story I wrote for a city! Unfortunately, it has lots of High Epics in it. And I think I said a specific location. Darn. When in doubt, make more Epics and write a story about them. -An excerpt from Voidus' How to be an insane Epic collector vol. 3.14
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Here's the picture. As for the Australia game, it's your business but listening to this, if you do both normal character interaction within what 5 cities by now? with characters for each players and large scale conflicts between those cities with intrigues, I'm pretty sure that you're going to overtax yourselves, so you might want to start on a little bit of a smaller scale to test out the waters. 1
Mckeedee123 he/him Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 Do you mind if I take Brisbane? Renamed: Riftbane Do you want to rename Australia itself? That could make the thread look a bit more unique. Wastralia, Darkstralia, Ruinstralia... or maybe just The Wastelands. And does anyone else think it would be cool to have groups of road bandits running around the desert a la Mad Max? 1
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 And does anyone else think it would be cool to have groups of road bandits running around the desert a la Mad Max? Yes!!! We need this!!!
Blackhoof Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) Perhaps our time could even be set much earlier? What if we started the RP when Australia passes its version of the Capitulation act (dammit Turnbull! ) and we depict the fighting to take control of the cities? Things can move more quickly without worrying about running out of time. @Mckdee: Well the US has become the Fractured States.... I'm not sure an Australian equivalent would work though. We don't have a three-word name like that. Well not a commonly used one at least. Knowing Australians, we would abbreviate "The Wasteland" to "the Waste-o" so yeah lets do that. And road bandits preying on those who have fled from the Epic cities? Yes! Edited October 30, 2015 by Blackhoof
MrMistborn he/him Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 We'd more likely abbreviate it to The Wazza!
