Seana she/her Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I always think of Stormlight when I hear Lindsey Stirling's "Stars Align." I think it's because in the music video they throw around light, fall with style, and massive rocky plains stretching into the distance. Also "Crystallize" by Lindsey makes me think of Shards and Shardbearers. 2
espeterson51 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Reignite by Malukah - The music is inspired by Mass Effect, but it fits perfect with Syl/Kaladin. Pretty much captures everything about their bond and and their struggle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2JtwAwkgxA
CthulhuSpren Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 The song Flaws by bastille had these lyrics as a pre-chorus There’s a hole in my soulI can’t fill it, I can’t fill itThere’s a hole in my soulCan you fill it? Can you fill it? makes me think of Surgebinders and their Spren 1
Lilaer she/her Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 (edited) I like the bitter side of Kaladin's, but for if you want to laugh at him, Billy Joel's Angry Young Man fits hilariously well. It could be like the anthem of Kaladin-non-fans: And there's always a place for the angry young manWith his fist in the air and his head in the sandHe's never been able to learn from mistakesHe can't understand why his heart always breaksHis honor is pure, and his courage as wellhe's fair and he's true, and he's boring as hellAnd he'll go to his grave as an angry old man. Tetriona she/her Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Surprisingly, "Demons" by Imagine Dragons makes me think of Shallan. Shallan has been through an insane amount of pain and events that would bring most people to their breaking point, but she has kept it all inside, not allowing the pain inside of her to surface. Even Kaladin was in awe about how Shallan was able to continue on just like everyone else after all she'd been through. I think that is one of the reasons I admire Shallan so much... in spite of everything, she has kept going and grown stronger from her misfortunes.
Femme she/her Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 This. Basically, it's like Wit playing the mandolin and telling the tragic tale of the sinking of the Wind's Pleasure from Captain Tozbek's viewpoint. The sounds of the mandolin can make you see the ship, the storm, the tragedy. Give it a listen, you won't regret it. You might cry!
TheLerasNosed he/him Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Facade by Disturbed is a song I thought fit Shallan nicely.
DreamEternal Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 For Shallan, one that fits from tge name onwards: My Dream's but a Drop of Fuel For My Nightmare, by Sonata Arctica.
