Thank you! It is a pretty cute game, and the quests can be fun. I didn't know there was a Creative Corner! Sure, it's fine to move this there.

Not sure where else to post this without getting severely judged, lol. Anyhow, I log into my Maplestory game account once every other year just to see what's happening in game, and then before I knew it, I did this: (Also, when attacking it appears as lightning strikes) I'm both delighted and ashamed of the money I spent on this XD

I agree it was weird, but I think in Dalinar's case, doing something was better than doing nothing. He was basically grasping at straws to figure out what the heck to do, and like previous posters pointed out, Amaram was widely known for his virtue and honor, so if he were to nominate any normal human, he would probably choose the best of the best: a lighteyes of high rank, with a high reputation, with shardplate and blade. Also in retrospect, had he not started up the faux-radiants, two things wouldn't have happened: Kaladin wouldn't have opposed the wrongness of the appointment, and he wouldn't have had all those conversations with Syl about him being/becoming a radiant, and thus him accepting that he was one once it happened. Talk of the reforming the radiants wouldn't have been the talk of the town and it wouldn't have easily convinced the masses to accept Kaladin and Shallan as radiants. Acceptance from the majority and normalizing their positions of authority is probably going to be important for the new radiants. Dalinar basically paved the way for their arrival.

Me tooooooo~ It's my favourite Studio Ghibli Movie! The soundtrack, the colours, the soothing simplicity of the story, just love it <3 My second favourite might be Porco Rosso, there's just something so original and cool about the story.

Ask the autistic person - also hi, I'm new :D
Femme replied to manavortex's topic in Introduce Yourself!
What an informative thread Thank you for doing this! It's so important for people to better understand autism and mental health, as I admit I have a lot of learning to do as well. I have a question for you! There's someone I am close to who might be on the spectrum, however she refuses to see a doctor or talk to anyone other than me about it. She believes that life as it is now might be affected negatively once she knows exactly what condition she has and is forced into treatment or medication, even though I told her that she won't be forced to do anything and she will always have a choice in whatever medical treatment or therapy is prescribed. Basically, she doesn't want her life to change even though I'm trying to convince her that it would be better for her and her family if she knew exactly what her condition is, so that she and her family better understands how to help her, interact with her, and what to say or avoid saying, etc. What would you say to such a person who is avoiding being diagnosed? -
Thanks for your answer, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Sigh, let Hoid's book come soon! He is so intensely interesting.

Songs That Make You Think of Stormlight Archive
Femme replied to Random Observations R Me's topic in Stormlight Archive
This. Basically, it's like Wit playing the mandolin and telling the tragic tale of the sinking of the Wind's Pleasure from Captain Tozbek's viewpoint. The sounds of the mandolin can make you see the ship, the storm, the tragedy. Give it a listen, you won't regret it. You might cry! -
You know, throughout the two books Kaladin's thoughts and treatment of lighteyes always made complete sense to me. Not that the way he felt about them or treated them was right, but it made sense that he would feel that way. Yes, we probably all groaned and sighed when he went on another rant about how all lighteyes were no good, but it was completely in-character for him. He had a right to feel mistrustful of lighteyes due to his experiences in life, just like Moash had a right to have a grudge against the king because of what happened to his grandparents. We had to experience his internal struggle for his mistrust for them, it would've been weird if he didn't have an internal struggle after watching his brother die/being sent to slavery/being forced to run towards his death etc., at the hands of lighteyes. Kaladin's 20 years old right? He's practically a kid, and I've always seen him as a kid throughout both books. A naive, broken kid with resolve and determination who we're watching grow stronger, wiser, and more accepting.

I think someone very close to Kaladin will die which will test his new acceptance that he's not always responsible for the lives of everyone around him. I think that person will probably be Teft. The father figures always end up dying. Ultimately, in the end, probably Dalinar.

Alright so I only currently own a copy of the Words of Radiance audiobook, so I can't reference the page, but this occurs in chapter 45. In Shallan's flashback of the fair where Hoid, disguised as a messenger, reacts to seeing Shallan for the first time, he is stunned. I might be wrong, but this might be the only occurrence we see of him reacting so oddly to seeing one of the protagonists for the first time in the cosmere books. I saw in the Words of Brandon thread that Hoid has hints of where and when to go to witness.. things.. but do we know how he recognizes these major characters who have these abilities?

Only if you eat these poison but not poison totally poison but maybe not really, actually kinda not but almost certainly, maybe, poison cupcakes. If this dragon wanted to stab me I would probably open my arms wide and die a beautiful death.

You poor things. I'll pass this time, trying to cut back these days. But if you're ever making brownies sans-spike, give me a call

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Femme replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you read another author's fantasy book and are disappointed in its lack of original curse words. -
But then.. whose are they?

Maybe these Dark Alley guys are just misunderstood. Maybe Sazed just wants a friendly chat?

Loved the Ender's Game reference!

I think we love Kaladin because we've grown with him, we've hurt with him, we've seen him triumph over loss, hate, and revenge, and after all that we want to see him happy. Kaladin deserves happiness.

Hello everyone I only recently discovered Brandon's works while scrolling through the fantasy recommendations on Audible, and once I started I just couldn't stop. I've currently read The Stormlight archive, the Mistborn series, Elantris, Warbreaker, and the The Reckoners Series, with my top favourites being The Stormlight archive followed by Warbreaker. I'm currently on a reread/re-listen of Words of Radiance (only 5 hours left! Don't want it to end! D:) and slowly piecing together the whole cosmere/Hoid business, but I've been pretty oblivious to the cosmere secrets in each book beforehand, so I hope to find them here. Two of my favourite scenes in WoR is *Wit*'s conversation with Shallan about the concept of beauty, and his story of Fleet as told to Kaladin. I dearly wish some talented fan out there could reproduce that scene with a guitar or mandolin, I bet it would be an amazing performance! About me: I'm from Canada, my interests include religious studies, travel, and food. I'm also a pretty big manga fan with my favourites being One Piece, HunterxHunter, and most recently Hero Academia and Assassination Classroom. This forum is actually my second forum experience, my first being a pretty big One Piece forum. Looking forward to meeting you all!
