So, a week or so ago I caught an Oddish in Pokémon Y, and its Pokédex entry says that its scientific designation is the "Oddium Pokémon".

 

Oh shoot. He reigns. In Kalos.

well, Odium sounds like latinalized Odin. Though... well... Japanese have always been fascinated with other cultures' gods.

Odium is a real word, just like all of the Shards' names / Intents. This one just happens to be an incredibly rarely used one. But you are partially correct, it does come from Latin.

ah... okey... I don't check every odd word in fantasy texts. It just seemed like Odin+opium, so I let it slip as at.

Oddium=Oddish + levels->Gloom+ leaf stone -> Vileplume

 

Conclusion: Odium will level up by consuming and corrupting the splinters of Honor and morph into the shard of Gloom. Then he will absorb the whole Shard of Cultivation at once transforming into the Shard of Vileness.

 

The accuracy of this? Who cares?
