mirahound she/her Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 So, um, Regalia said that every Epic has to go through a rending (whether or not facing fears before gaining powers negates that is a topic for another day). We know Prof has to have gone through a rending, and we know that the school he taught at was destroyed by an Epic... is it possible Prof was the Epic who destroyed the school during his Rending? 1
Ookla the Absent Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 (edited) That's what I always assumed. "School was still in session" Edited August 29, 2015 by Gargoyle 1
Kobold King he/him Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 That's what I always assumed. "School was still in session" "School is in session," Prof said nonchalantly. He slipped on a pair of sunglasses and walked away, the school suddenly exploding for no reason behind his back. 3

It's a pretty common assumtion, even more so given that Prof claims to be an Epic "since Calamity" which would put him on the same early appearance as Dawnslight, before Epics became common and given that the slaughter would have to have happened before he became an Epic.
Voidus Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 On a side note though, Brandon has confirmed that not all Epics do go through a rending, it's tied to how powerful they are. 1

Voidus Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 True, though with how powerful Prof is, a Rending is pretty much a certainty. Megan, not so much. As I've pointed out the Epic with the most certain and severe Rending purely from an energy point of view was clearly Curveball. 1

Not like the Rending of Metronome the great, spoken of only in hushed whispers. (Some say because if you speak of it any louder you burst out laughing but Metronome the great knows it's just because of the fear he inspires) 1

"Um, thank you?" "FEAR MY POWER!" "I'm sorry, what power?" 2
