Pechvarry Posted September 11, 2013 Author Posted September 11, 2013 I'm under the impression ChayShan is basically drawing full body Aons -- YMCA style. And while we've barely seen anything about it, I'm guessing the effects are entirely internal. Even if it sets your fist on fire, which hurts them but not you, the target is _you_. But I suppose the power is still from the Dor, similar to Pewter. I'm wondering if there's a way to dump other investitures into it, since your body is already the focus. This wouldn't make it any faster, since you would still need to complete the drawing. But it would add power, or an alternate power source when too far from Sel. This goes the other way: if ChayShan targets you with the Dor as opposed to some particular external effect, it may be a great way to harvest relatively formless Investiture. Sidenotes: *Yes, Feruchemical steel would make ChayShan very powerful. *Of all Sel systems, only AonDor doesn't require the form to make physical contact with the target, which I find significant.
jag519 he/him Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Feruchemical steel or a time bubble would be nice for ChayShan. Both would be really good with Rithmacy too (only including it because it fits with the comsere magic systems, it was just moved to an earth type setting and is no longer cosmere, magic wise it would fit though) Shardplate makes you stronger right? (I'm still toward the beginning middle of way of kings) How about just hanging out in shardplate and filling pewter
Oudeis he/him Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Per Sanderson: "on the extreme end of aluminum, I have in the notes the possibility of cleansing the spirit of unwanted effects of other investitures. You'd get really good at this, and maybe even be able to cleanse the body of other impurities." What does anyone think would happen if someone possessed a Shardblade, and burned aluminum? The three outcomes I can see are: 1. Nothing. 2. The Blade is destroyed like a reserve of allomantic metals 3. The Blade pops into existence as though its bearer were slain.
Shardlet he/him Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Most shardbearers would not consider the blade to be an unwanted effect of an investiture. However, Syl hates Dalinar's blade for whatever reason (I have my own ideas). Could this be used to 'purify' a blade?

I would think it's more talking about side effects. Perhaps it would undo the lightening of eyes. The main thing I think of for this is the damaging of the body a Savant gets.
Dysphoric Kitten she/her Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 ChayShan and Feruchemical tin. You store it to concentrate better, then it is much easier to continue in it. This is not mixing up systems, but if you have two seekers, they can communicate. If you are interested, I can send you a link to an explanation of this. Also, flared Bronze against extremely tiny copper. What happens? By the way, I hate Aluminium. I think Sanderson is abusing it to no end right now. I mean, the whole idea of a coppercloud is that it is the only way to protect your emotions. The fact the aluminium does the same, and at the same time it is allomantically inert, ruins the whole thing for me. I need three things for it to work: A. Aluminium is not compoundable, and if it is, only in very small quantities. This is because it is erased in the process. B. Duralumin is, instead of allomantically inert, affected more easily. Same for emotion - if you Soothe or Riot someone wearing Duralumin, the effect is magnified. C. There must be an explanation.
