Fatebreaker he/him Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 You guys only hate vegemite because you don't know how to eat it properly! You just spread a TINY amount across bettered toast, or bread. If you spread it as thick as nutella pr use it as a dipping sauce you're gonna have a bad time Nope, I had it just as you said, prepared by my friends from Australia, and it was still an ordeal I'd rather not face again. If it weren't for all of the wonderful creatures that could kill you, I would seriously question Australia's viability as a nation which has contributed to edible culture.

Have you ever had a pavlova before?
Fatebreaker he/him Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I've not. Is it a cake that trains you to salivate whenever you hear a bell ring? 1
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Sorry I was gone for a while. I am working on a Countdown post.
Edgedancer he/him Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Iconoclast makes the most melodramatic exits So just to make sure I understood that right, he started regenerating from a random arm he left in an alley?
Blackhoof Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Yes. When his body is fully vaporized he regenerates from the next largest mass of tissue. In this case, an arm. I basically intended his regeneration to be near-perfect and I didn't want him getting trapped, captured or overwhelmed too easily. Given that he is essentially taking on a city on his own so far (until he gets help from Phoenix it Converter) I figured it is justified

Well a LOT of an acquired taste Pavlova though I can't stand. Its basically cream on cream in an edible styrofoam cake-shape with more sugar than a chocolate factory and some strawberries on top although I don't much like cream anyway, so that biases me I suppose So you like vegemite but hate Pavlova? ... IT'S CALAMITY! KILL IT! 1
Fatebreaker he/him Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Hmm, pavlova sounds potentially delicious. Almost as good as peanut butter pie, which is categorized by science as one of the 10 most consumable desserts in the world.

Voidus Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Adventurer/Bioterror post up, I'm still getting the hang of Lockvault and I'll need to read through a fair bit of his earlier posts before I get a POV from him up but I'm enjoying writting him from the Adventurers POV for now so I'll stick with that Neverthere/PP post should be up tonight too. Wouldn't that arm be nothing but dead tissue at this point, though? That's actually a good point, Epic cells undergo mitochondrial degeneration pretty quickly after death so I don't know that dead tissue should still have any of his powers.

I'll go and read it immediately. (I feel ya, I know the problem from Big Al.) Plus, his weakness is (if I remember right, because I think we changed it around a bit) proximity based. The chance of someone getting his weakness close to every part of his body he may have left somewhere (especially given that he could essentially teleport between the parts to make sure all of them are still alright on a regular basis.) is rather close to virtually impossible. Mailliw73 he/him Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I finally am reading that entire Sorting Hat tumblr that Twi uses and I'm pretty sure Altermind is a Slytherin Primary with a Ravenclaw Secondary. Twi, did you ever sort him differently, I'm curious? I am having a hard time deciding on a primary for myself though. I think Hufflepuff is probably my Primary with a Slytherin Secondary, but I also think I might be a Gryffindor or Slytherin Primary. It's kind of a weird mix of the three. I love reading about Gryffindor primaries and those are probably my favorite characters, especially if they're a Gryffindor or Slytherin secondary. Hufflepuff Primaries can also be some of my favorites. 1

I stuck to mostly my own characters, since I know that there's probably all of this backstory stuff for other characters that hasn't made it onto the page yet. (At least there is for mine. ) So I hadn't Sorted Altermind, but I agree that he's either a Ravenclaw with a strong Slytherin secondary, or a full-on Slytherin with Ravenclaw tendencies. 1

It's not so much backstory stuff as it is me knowing how they think, but yeah, definitely strong Ravenclaw and Slytherin traits. Jag is definitely a Gryffindor secondary and probably Slytherin primary. Hawkwing balances him out with his Ravenclaw primary and secondary. Smasher's also a Gryff secondary and probably primary too. Emma is most likely in the process of becoming a Petrified Slytherin or maybe a Burned Hufflepuff with slytherin secondary. 1

I put Funtimes in Slytherin with a very strong Hufflepuff secondary, so it would definitely be an amusing Sorting ceremony, the year Jade Delancey and Milton Towren got their acceptance letters.
Mailliw73 he/him Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Milton wouldn't mind Jade so much as think she was annoying and weak, but if she was Funtimes, he would request the Sorting Hat to put him in Ravenclaw just to keep him away from her.

Likewise, Jade would think he needed to lighten up a LOT. If he was mean to her, she'd try extra hard to befriend him. Although....if they were both accepted to Hogwarts, it would mean that they'd have the same powers (but different specialties) and if they hadn't lived near each other or met on the train, Milton would have no reason to request Ravenclaw, unless she made a scene during the Sorting ceremony. (If, however, they were both accepted to Hogwarts after Calamity claimed them, then it would mean Dumbledore's hiring practices might FINALLY gain some closer scrutiny from the school board, considering hiring two out of control demigods to live with and teach children would mean he'd finally lost his mind.) 1

Milton early on was probably more inclined to a Ravenclaw primary, but he'd model Slytherin. His secondary would be Slytherin. Calamity's changed him somewhat, mostly that before, he never did find a group to call his own, but now that he's powerful and good-looking, he has Thoughttown to look over. They still wouldn't get along, but I guess he wouldn't have too much against her. Very true.

Quirky and wacky, but not going out of her way to be strange. So if they didn't get along, and there's every chance they might not, they could probably at least reach a peaceful coexistence.

Altermind wasn't as cruel and judgmental before Calamity as well. He was still somewhat judgmental, but it was only mentally and to much less of a degree. Actually, if Jade or someone had been kind and involved Milton in their group and he felt accepted, he never would've been Altermind. If it happened, he'd become more of a Slytherin and would value his group so highly. 1

Blackhoof Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 I hadn't considered the mitochondrial thing. How about his tissue stays "alive" in a fashion, even when separated? Because magic. It is linked to him in a way. It acts dead but the mitochondrial DNA remains active. And with his weakness- he doesn't regenerate if killed while his weakness is triggered. All his tissue everywhere would die.
Blackhoof Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 *editing isn't working That's tragic :'( if it makes anyone feel better, neither hell nor high heaven would have saved Roger without Calamity 1
