TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 Oh, this means war! In a complaining war, there is only one loser: everyone who has to listen. 1

Edgedancer he/him Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 In a complaining war, there is only one loser: everyone who has to listen. If we write it, does that count as listening?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 If we write it, does that count as listening? If others read it, are they listening more or less than the ones who wrote it?
Voidus Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 If we write it, does that count as listening? If others read it, are they listening more or less than the ones who wrote it? If Lucentia whines in a forest with no one to hear it, is it still annoying? Yes. Yes it is. 2
Kobold King he/him Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 If Lucentia whines in a forest with no one to hear it, is it still annoying? Yes. Yes it is. Those poor trees. 4
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 Those poor trees. Save the rainforest... ...from Lucentia. Her complaining is driving the trees to close up their leaves in a vain attempt to shut out her voice. 2
Kobold King he/him Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Save the rainforest... ...from Lucentia. Her complaining is driving the trees to close up their leaves in a vain attempt to shut out her voice. Thus robbing the world of its oxygen supply, preventing Lucentia from taking the breath necessary to complain! ...I have mixed feelings about this. 2

Maybe, if we put her on a spaceship that derived its oxygen supply from a garden.... 3
Voidus Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Maybe, if we put her on a spaceship that derived its oxygen supply from a garden.... And fired it into the sun? 2
Edgedancer he/him Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 And fired it into the sun?Wouldn’t work, Sadly.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 Funny story. I meant to click on this thread, but I accidentally went to the "PC or Mac?" one. I spent a few seconds wondering why Chaos interrupted our pugs and ponies planning thread to ask what kind of computer we prefer. 3
Kobold King he/him Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Wouldn’t work, Sadly. Yeah, she'd be alive, but with no means of propulsion she'd never escape the sun's gravity and get back to Earth...
Voidus Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Actually I'm not sure Epics would be able to survive the sun, for one we don't know if Calamity would still affect them at that distance but also the radiation might mutate them enough that they lose their abilities. Maybe Steelheart could but you can't heal back your abilities after you lose them.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 Yeah, she'd be alive, but with no means of propulsion she'd never escape the sun's gravity and get back to Earth... And the sun would probably be hot enough to melt her diamonds. Obliteration melted Endless Dreams (who was supposedly invincible) by reaching the sun's temperature.
Edgedancer he/him Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 And the sun would probably be hot enough to melt her diamonds. Obliteration melted Endless Dreams (who was supposedly invincible) by reaching the sun's temperature. Huh, actually what would happen, if you toss a theoretically limitless amount of diamonds into the sun over a period of time? Mail-mi, any idea when we can expect a new Reader post?

Comatose he/him Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Looks good to me, some very interesting potential dynamics like ongoing and pretty powerful corruption mixed with empathy for Vanillas due to growing memories from them, a reincarnator with potentially a lot of incentive not to die if she's got a really good power. Those are the plot elements I was looking forward to as well. I also liked the tension that her talents and skills could stack, giving her some incentive to die and build those up (I have an intro scene in mind where she manipulates a doctor into killing her to gain his medical knowledge), but if she gets a good epic power, then her preference would be to keep it and avoid dying again at all costs. 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 Know what I just realized? We are nearly ten days into September and I have not seen one reference to the song "(What Happened In) September." I am disappoint. Mostly in myself. Because I haven't made any references to that song. 1
Mailliw73 he/him Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 (edited) Um, I may or may not be editing in a song reference to Emma's latest post now. (not that song though. Edit: done. Edited September 9, 2015 by Mailliw73

Mailliw73 he/him Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Winter, great post! Just wanted to say that I've definitely noticed a huge improvement in your writing since you joined. 3
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted September 9, 2015 Author Posted September 9, 2015 Thanks! By the way, is anyone here doing Nanowrimo in the upcoming November? (I intend to do so) Nope. The last time I did it, I compared cars driving on a busy street at night to "bright-eyed alligators cruising down a river." No, it was not a Reckoners fanfic. That was the moment I learned that NaNo does not force me to write well. Forces me to write, but not well. 2
Mailliw73 he/him Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 I don't know. I only did it once, and I didn't even get close to finishing what was basically a Hunger Games rip off. I'm not sure if I'll have time this November or not. 1
