Little did Crush know, he had landed in the one Oregon city where colorful sunglass thieves lurked behind every corner, and his orange glasses were the perfect prize with which to impress a new flame...

Right? Shiny Sparkle is basically anathema to him.

Please Shiny Sparkle doesn't simply stealth sunglasses, she relocates them to more worthy wielders, as is her holy duty. :P

It would be a shame to not have these two meet though.

Well, if he's lucky she will decide to give him a visit and return them. Most likely using the chance to flirt with Funtimes and Co. :P

She'd better hope she doesn't try to flirt with PP at all or she might find she's suddenly missing an important organ of some kind.

As much haresy as it my be but Shiny Sparkle isn't exactly Fond of bears (apparently autocorect considers PP an animal  )so he should be fine. Edited by Edgedancer

Saccharine would steal Shiny Sparkle's organ?

Does she have any idea how expensive those things are?

That is an impressive organ, but all it did was make me want to turn this guy into an epic:

How about some sort of secretary or paper pusher?  The threat of Reader seeing her could be both fun to try to avoid, or annoying if he finds her too easily, so it could go either way.  Also, given Reader's current restrictions, I figured that while Autumn would still be checking in with him, he wouldn't have as much access to the rest of the "staff" (how much staff does the 'immigration committee' for lack of a better term, have anyways?).

Also, in other news, I had an idea for a meta-epic power that I don't think has been written about yet, but is probably in Voidus's vault somewhere.  I already have a lot on the go, so I'm not sure if I have room for another character, but I think this power could be a fun addition to any of the current plot-lines.  If we do have a Rogue-style copy-cat epic all ready, let me know ;).

Power:

Adaptive Ressurection - This epic can resurrect instantly, and comes back with the power/skill/talent used to kill them  If a person stabs them with a sword, they come back possessing that person's ability to use a sword.  If they are shot, they acquire the person who shot them's knowledge of guns and marksmanship skills.  If they are killed by an Epic, they gain the power used to kill them (Example: if killed by Rainmaker's lightning, they would gain her ability to distort the weather, but not her flight, shining skin, or PI ability).  If we wanted an epic who could eventually be a big bad, the abilities they acquire could stack (which would be fun in a let's destroy everything kind of way), or if we wanted a more balanced minor epic, we could say they only aquire one ability/skill/power at a time.  If more than one power/skill/ability is used to kill them (like if a super strong epic used a weapon to kill them) then they could gain that epic's skill with the weapon, AND their physical enhancement.

One thing I think would be fun about this epic is that they could be constantly discovering new abilities, and getting more powerful over time.  If we chose the second option, where her powers don't stack and are reset with each Resurrection, then we could have her be extra careful with her life whenever she gets a more valuable power, since she wouldn't want to lose it.  It would also be cool if copying another epic's powers also gave her a portion of their brand of corruption, since she would be acquiring the power and the skill to use it, which would come from practice and use.

Thoughts?

A paper pusher could work (assuming there are enough around Autumn). Although it depends a bit if Jack gets told that there's an Epic around... then again Arsenal could probably just hand out dowsers to patrols and they could find her relatively easy, if they'd push the search for her.

As for the Epic, there have been a couple of people proposing power copiers, although none of them actually made it in game, either because no one had the time to play them or because they were vetoed on the grounds of gaining more and more powers would ultimately snowball them out of control. I am not sure if any of them were triggered by getting killed.

He'd have to have had a real Dowser before though and from Steelheart it seems they're pretty rare, I doubt the Dalles could have afforded them.

It depends. If they're Epic-derived technology, with motivators and everything, then yeah, there's no way. If they're just a mundane DNA-tester of some kind, then Arsenal only needs to have seen one once in order to duplicate them for the whole town. It's definitely the kind of technology what remained of the National Guard would have tried to get its hands on.

I dunno, there's a difference of having seen one once and being to afford one and they do seem like perfectly "ordinary" technology.

Given that the Dowsers worked at a distance I'm almost certain that they're some kind of Epic-derived tech, also considering their rarity, if someone like Steelheart can't even get one it just seems a bit unlikely. Given what we know about Epics I'm sure you could use DNA testing to discover them but it'd need blood samples a lab and a fair bit of time.

It could work either way really. Nothing we know says there couldn't be somekind of radiation given of by Epics and in some way, actually the description David gives of High Epics in their glory gives of the description the they are emitting something.

Was it anywhere stated that Steelheart couldn't get his hands on one? Just because David didn't know for sure if they exsist doesn't mean there weren't any in town period.

Really? All I can remember is some complaining about his inventory, David selling Abraham's gun and then something about forensics, giving David the chance to check NIghtwielder's weakness and then him getting out of there. Could you quote that maybe?

But he failed to notic

e Firefight and Prof.

Well we know why it didn't find Firefight. For Prof there are two options, either his gifting spreads his power far enough out so he doesn't get noticed (unlikely given the sheer amount of power he has) or they could programm it to not register his signature. Not sure if the programming option would point in either direction.

They wanted equipment to detect Epics. Diamond didn’t have such a thing; he said he’d heard of some for sale in Denver, but it had turned out to be only a rumor. It appeared that dowsers like the Reckoners had weren’t easy to come by even for someone like Diamond.

And I think Winter was talking about David not recognizing Firefight or Prof as Epics as a note on the Epic radiation thing, the Dowser was explained in books as Firefight using illusions and Prof programming it to ignore him.

My sister (the eighteen-year-old one) is going to Indiana with my mom for a friend's wedding this weekend. Their trip will take them through Chicago, as they'll land in O'Hare International Airport.

I told my sister that if she runs into a man named Paul Jackson, she needs to photograph him wearing a silly hat so that if and when a malevolent red star appears in the sky, she can be sure she isn't afraid of Mr. Jackson.

"Do you need a sampling of silly hats?" I asked.

She smiled. "That won't be a problem."

After she fills her phone with the Steelheart in Silly Hats collection, she's heading right back to Washington state. In other words, good luck finding her, Paul.

As Twi said you don't have to worry about it.

On other news, I've started playing Metal Gear Solid V. (Nothing I'd actually call a spoiler, just staying on the safe side)

That prologue man, kind of like this RP, just without the ponies and all the other happy stuff in the Questions.

You mean random and insane or creepy and terrifying?

I just started watching Owari no Seraph again, man that first episode gets me every time. :(
