vicsmith1412
Hello, I'm a new, first time contributor to the wiki trying to feel my way around the site and it's needs. I'm slightly nervous about beginning, since I've never used the system before, but I've started gathering information for a lot of the characters that only have stubs at the moment. I have everything ready for Allrianne Cett at the moment, but I wanted to make sure I'm not starting a project already in development and see if anyone had any tips or suggestions for working in the Coppermind and specifically with its characters. I'm happy to finally be joining the community around these amazing books, and this is something I'm confident I could really contribute once I know I'm doing it right.
Joe ST he/him
Hey there Vic its great to see you, I hope you enjoy editing edit away, feel free just to jump in and add your words. We don't often need to claim articles to stop conflicts, but if you're uncomfortable rewriting the article in place, you can copy it to your user page and its a sandbox. Feel free to as any questions you have, we're always around to help new editors
vicsmith1412
Thank you for the help! I'm glad there's not a lot of conflict, that just means this is a good group. That is a question I had: what are the uses of the user pages?
Joe ST he/him
The usage is totally up to you, you can use the user page however you like, some of us use it to construct draft versions of articles so we can ask for opinions before replacing other articles, some use it to store snippets or helpers or reminders of stuff. Mine is full of bits and pieces of codes and projects and stuff. But it's really up to you. We also use the user-talk pages to discuss things not related directly to a particular article/topic.
Young Bard he/him
Is there any way of seeing whether someone has started working on a page in their sandbox without physically looking at every single user page in the Coppermind. I had this problem when I redid the Final Ascension page, which was seriously underdeveloped.
cem he/him
Searching in User namespace would probably be the best you'll get. Like this.
